The way I see it is DAT could turn into a slot receiver and he can always get stronger with proper weight training. I found this video of him someone did where it showed off his catching skills.

They're working him in as a running back, because that is significantly easier than him learning the route tree from a slot receiver position.

It will minimize the damage from his hits, as most of the time he will have blockers in front of him or he'll be headed for the sideline. Most of his "tackles" will be either around the ankles or being forced out of bounds. As opposed to Bernard Pollard jacking him in the face at full speed.

This is essentially what they did with McCluster as well. You transition them into a receiver by first letting them catch screens and dump offs in the flat. Let him slowly learn the offense until he no longer has to get the ball coming out of the backfield.

I would guess 70% of his touches are on passes this year.

That and you can list him on the roster as a RB and it allows us to keep another WR.

Totally. This team has been so severely lacking in the skill positions for the past decade. There is just starting to be a glimmer of hope if guys like DAT, Kelce, Davis, Wilson, and Jenkins/Hammond/Hemmingway or another WR can step up and deliver on training camp promise.

Mccluster had like 2 really good returns while a Chief. He rarely really made people miss. He looked his best when their was snow on the ground where his lighter weight allowed him to change directions faster than bigger guys.

If he could play every game on snow he might be one of the best.

First Touch in the NFL is a Touchdown bump.

I have it on high authority that the return was photoshopped.
