Nolan's Batman 3 Title
Batman sequel 'Rises' again
LOS ANGELES - THE next Batman sequel has a title: The Dark Knight Rises. Distributor Warner Bros. confirmed the name for director Christopher Nolan's third adventure about the DC Comics vigilante hero, which follows Batman Begins in 2005 and The Dark Knight in 2008. The Dark Knight Rises is due in theaters July 20, 2012. Bucking Hollywood's current wave of 3-D movies, Nolan is not planning to shoot the film in 3-D. Warner Bros had agreed with Nolan's argument that the sequel should resist the 3-D craze, the director told the Los Angeles Times' Hero Complex blog, which first reported the title. Nolan would not reveal what villain might appear in The Dark Knight Rises, but he said it would not be the Riddler, one of the key bad guys in the comics and past film and TV Batman tales. Earlier this year, Nolan said he would not resurrect the Joker, the cackling villain played by Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight. Ledger won the supporting-actor Academy Award for the role, a year after he died of an accidental overdose of prescription drugs. -- AP |

I love the trailer. This will be one of those rare movies that makes me go to the theater again. (and pay for the super delux IMAX special)

Is that Hines Ward? 86. Black and yellow. Light skinned. I guess it could be him...

I thought Ledger was a weird choice before I saw the movie, so I guess I'll have to wait and see, but... Hathaway as Catwoman? Did, literally, every other actress say "No?"

Yea, I can see a lot of people complaining about Banes voice when this ia released. I think I caught about every other word he said in both the trailer and prologue.

But who is Catwoman, really? We grew up watching Eartha Kitt and Julie Newmar S&M their way through the campy TV show, growling sexy "meows" and making stupid cat-claw motions with their hands. She started out as a high-end thief, then they started working in that she was supposedly good at hand-to-hand fighting, then they started working in some dark pathos-filled backstory of abuse. Did twig-thin Michelle Pfeiffer really look like a Catwoman? (Sadly, Halle Berry was probably best physically suited for the role but that film bombed horrendously and now she's probably too old.) I don't think Anne Hathaway is a great choice but, really, who would've been better?

I've seen the IMAX prologue over a dozen times already, and I still can't understand him. You can guarantee, with all the complaints, Nolan will clean up his dialogue for the final release.

I don't understand how the Dark Knight could rise and fall in the same movie

I actually don't have a whole lot of difficulty understanding Bane in the prologue or the trailer.
