I'm not Hamas but I have seen Action Jackson. Seems a little light but I'd also wonder whether there is really a need to acquire that type of pitcher who is soon to be a very expensive FA. Particularly given the current depth of young upside/cost controlled arms.

Because there are no gaurantees we are going to the WS 3 out of the next 5 years our window remains open. We have the talent to spare/trade to give us a great chance to win a WS this year.

I thought the Rasmus deal was horrible at the time. Turned our that I was wrong. I would be greatly disappointed to not win another WS in this window. We can't leave some bullets in reserve. Play to win the game............

It would probably have to be Piscotty and Adams, Lynn, and a few C+ prospects. I would be in no rush to trade Piscotty. Oscar's ankle is still balky, and he's got some diva tendencies. Also, David Price is a little overrated. He lost 2 MPH off his gas last year, too.

I don't think the Cardinals need another SP. Sometimes the best move is not to make a move at all.

And don't just requisition my thoughts. Miles is one of the best posters on this entire site, and probably the most underrated.

Oh I totally agree and I'm just glad baseball is back. Apparently Matheny wanted him on the mound in Pittsburgh to try and exorcise him demons from there last year. Personally I'd have rather they put him in the best position to succeed and start the season off on a good note.

Yeah they put it on us. It's April 4th. Whats important is the last time we were there. October playoff baseball. 40K in the ball park enjoying their first playoff game is 20+ years. The city excited like its a Steelers playoff game. And we smoked them.

I know our bullpen isn't exactly made of ****ing All-Stars right now, but its a bit concerning that Matheny is letting everyone throw 100+ pitches a game the first week of the season.
