Let's talk about the Jaguars

No rest for the weary. The train keeps rolling on.

This is going to be a huge test, but at least its at home.

How does this one play out?

Broncos didn't set any kind of "blueprint"...all they did was attempt to take away the long ball.

This forced Reid to remember he actually has the NFL's leading rusher from a year ago..who can truck fools on screen passes. He waited until the late 3rd quarter.

I say flip the script. Make Jacksonville stop Hunt on those short passes...THEN hit them long. This isn't an offense a team can game plan into being one dimensional...

One QB that I think looks a lot like Mahomes....is a young Marino. Not the mobility/off-the cuff element, which looks more Favre/Wilson/Tarkenton/Rodgers...but just the in-the-pocket, quick strike stuff. Marino was a bad-ass QB. He was the only QB to beat the 85 Bears...put 38 points on them.

Anyone else have trouble sleeping on Saturday nights?

I'm just too excited this year. I even had trouble sleeping last Sunday, even tho our game was on Monday night.

No...I never have trouble sleeping. The moment I wake up on game day...I'm like "Ok...let's see what this alien creature-football savant will freak out the masses with".

I honestly think he's the best QB I've EVER seen at this point in their career...people forget he's only played 4 games with the starters. All his games have been on the road except one...it's off the charts. Even Alex Smith referred to him as "otherworldly"..and he's no dummy. His GM took a lot of shit for saying "he's the best player I've ever seen" last off-season.. PM is not from this earth...there is some strange Ju-Ju going down in Chief-land. This is Michael Jordan territory...he beat Peyton Manning's record in his FIRST three games...it took HGH-Boy 15 seasons to get to that record and he's a top 3 QB all-time. He's about to redefine the QB position and expectations from young players....just "another level"

Savant would be an apropos nickname...Showtime sucks. Generic, non-specific...terrible.

For us to put up a lot of points, Andy needs to design a bunch of plays targeting the slot and dime CBs of Jacksonville if we’re gonna keep them on their heels and score a lot.

Myles Jack is probably the only LB that can cover Kelce in the league now that Shazier is done. They have the outside corners to slow down Hill and Watkins. Their front 7 will limit Hunt and Ware.

Our best chance at explosive plays is with Demetrius Harris, Chris Conley and Demarcus Robinson on the other corners. We spread it out a lot and Jacksonville’s slot corner is out...so some guys named Tyler Patmon and Tre Herndon will be covering Conley and Robinson a lot. Harris should have a few opportunities for big plays down the seam, too.

Mahomes needs to be careful not to try to do too much against Jacksonville. That defense is other worldly, but it has weak points that we should be able to attack to put points on the board.

If those 3 have good games and Mahomes protects the ball otherwise, we should have a chance to win this one at home.

What is your take on AJ Bouye? If there is a player in the NFL, who’s combintion of career trajectory to this point, measurables, stats, etc. doesn’t make sense to me...it is AJ Bouye.

I found this on some Tyrod Taylor fanatic’s Twitter... don’t ask me how I found it. I mean, think about that. There are Alexsexuals in this world...Alex....sexuals. That’s impossible enough to comprehend, but then you find out that sexuals of....Tyrod Taylor actually exist and you officially conclude that no matter what, there are millions of people in this world that you will just plain and simply never be able to make sense of.

Anyways, this was posted in 2016 after the Bills vs. Jaguars game. Sammy Watkins took on Jalen Ramsey in that game. This is a clip from it. Watkins had a decent game...put up 80 yards vs. (rookie) Jalen Ramsey with Tyrod Taylor shot-putting the ball. I think we may be ok...

I think Arrowhead + Mahomes magic hysteria is too much for Bortles. Quit pretending like this is dude is anything but average...their fans are praying he plays out of his mind, on the road. It might happen..but its like a 15% chance.

They played NE, at home on a 100 day without the Patriot's 2 best offensive weapons...and they were pissed about losing the play-off game. (which they should be becuaase the officials ****ed them)

Meh...

Does anyone really think Bortles out-duels Mahomes? in Arrowhead? Blake is a FA after this year...maybe a Mahomes for Bortles trade...straight-up?

Remember Mahome's 1st touchdown pass to Hill in the Charger game? Those type of quick slants to Hill, Kelsey and Watkins would be an excellent way to chop up the Jags defense. They will be focused on keeping Mahomes contained and eliminating the extended play. Those quick slants will be almost impossible to defend with our receivers. I can see Hill torching Ramsey multiple times on these type of plays.

**** that shit. Steve Young didn't shy away from Jerry Rice just because Deion was out there.

Jalen is no Deion.

I agree that Mahomes shouldn't shy away from any CB in the league. He should throw to who is open. If the WR going against Ramesay is open then throw to him if he isn't then don't. It's as simple as that.

Wouldn't call Ramesay overrated though. He's good arguably best in the league. He can play.

Ramsey hasn't had to cover 4.24 speed. OBJ torched him pretty well this year; and he runs a 4.43. Hill's agility, quickness and speed will be too much for the jag's wannabe shit talker. I'm just glad Fournette won't be on the field. He would be the biggest worry for the Chiefs if he were playing.

Bortles can scoot. He's got like the second highest YPC average of any player in history only behind Mike Vick, IIRC.
