Marcus Peters also had verbal altercation with assistant coach Sunday

http://amp.kansascity.com/sports/nfl...mpression=true

Chiefs cornerback Marcus Peters’ frustration following the Chiefs’ 38-31 loss to the New York Jets didn’t end immediately after the game, it appears.

According to a report by NFL Network’s Mike Garafalo, Peters also had a verbal altercation with an assistant coach on the bus during the team’s ride to airport following the game. The assistant coach was not named.

The Star reported Thursday that Peters’ suspension was related to his decision to leave the field prematurely following the flag toss. The club viewed that as a team issue, as opposed to the penalty flag toss, which it deemed a league issue that Peters was ultimately fined $24,409 for on Friday.

The NFL Network report cited Peters’ decision to leave the field as a reason for the one-game suspension coach Andy Reid levied on him earlier this week, with the verbal altercation also being a contributing factor.

The Chiefs still had a little over two minutes left to tie the game, and Peters returned to the sideline –– albeit with no socks –– as the offense made its last-gasp attempt. But the drive stalled out, and the Chiefs lost for the sixth time in seven games.

Peters’ suspension means the Oakland native will miss the Chiefs’ showdown Sunday against his hometown Raiders. He was not allowed to practice this week and will forfeit a game check.

Peters is our OBJ. Supremely talented with a horrible brain. You never know if he's gonna win the game or get kicked out. Do you want to risk that during the AFC championship? Or would you take a guy like Butler that makes plays to win Superbowls?

He might have just as many. Dude has been on top of a lot of Chiefs news over the last couple of years. Not saying he’s Schefter, but he’s got info.

Florio was legitimate speculation, we know this. He also said Houston could be cut just weeks ago.

Again, LaCanfora is known to not like KC fans, and when is the last time that guy broke any meaningful news? He’s not exactly reliable either.

It doesn’t make sense to trade Marcus Peters to me given what the return will likely be. Therefore, until Terez/Schefter/Rapoport day something, I’ll consider it speculation.

I promise you that if this team ever wins a SB with Marcus on the roster, he’ll have played a huge role.

He almost won the Titans game with either 1) his amazing interception, or 2) the near strip fumble at the end.

Just seems like both sides are equally believable at this point, its a coin flip IMO

We see stories like this floated every offseason about numerous top players, and they almost always fizzle out

At the same time, its easy enough to see Hunt and co being leery of ponying up the big dough for a hothead like Peters, and so they leak the possibility of trade early on to gauge the initial interest

Its getting everyone too hot under the collar... in the event he is traded, lets see what the reasoning behind it was before going apeshit

The problem is that we’d likely never find out the absolute real reasons why, much like Dorsey’s firing. We can point to reasons why we might think so, but Hunt isn’t going to say it to the media.

The way I see it, if they trade him, it’s probably coming from Clark and I would view that as a major mistake on the surface. This team isn’t as far off from being a SB contender as some might believe, but removing Peters would set them back unlike any other player departure not named Mahomes.

Newsflash, the Chiefs aren't getting to the AFC Championship game or beyond without the likes of Peters, i.e. a Pro Bowl shutdown corner.

If that were the case, he'd have a high profile gig, employed by the NFL Network, NBC, CBS, ABC, Fox, ESPN, Fox Sports, etc.

Instead, he's a blogger.

We wouldnt know the nitty gritty details, but getting rid of someone like Peters so soon would surely have the press asking enough tough questions that we'd get the gist of it

Enough info that we could read between the lines, as it were

Also have to recall that LaCanfora doesn’t like Kansas City fans.
This is pretty much exactly what I said yesterday.

What? We’d never know why Marcus Peters was traded? Really?

And no I doubt Clark is the determining factor. I mean c’mon man just look at how much trouble Marcus Peters caused this team last year..

Huh? Either he's a shut down corner or he's not. I don't care if no one rushes the QB.

Florio is the king of manufacturing stories for clicks and La Canfora hasn't had any real sources since NFLN dumped him. He's wrong all the ****ing time. His source is probably Florios clickbait.

It's pretty ironic he suddenly has word on it after Florio guessed it may happen, may not.
