I had a problem with my Pathfinder ('pathgrinder' as Bwana nicknamed her) where I'd have to turn the key a couple times before it turned over. Everything would turn on but the starter wouldn't kick in to turn over the engine.Turns out I needed a new ignition and it worked like charm.Sounds pretty much the same except you let your key sit instead of playing & jiggling it like me because I'm an impatient ADHD moron. The ignition was actually simple to replace by a an experienced mechanic and if I remember correctly it ran me under $200. Not a big deal if it's an automatic but when you stall on a steep hill or just accidentally pop the clutch like I did it tends to piss the people behind you off when they have to wait a couple red light cycles.

Does it have a fuel filter? Have you ever changed it?
