Didn't most people buy in during the pre-season last year? You could see he was raw, but he flashed some elite shit too.

I know I'm biased here, but the only QB I'd even consider over Mahomes right now would be Wentz. And personally, I'd take Wentz at like 1G if Mahomes was 1A. He may bust, but the guy looks like should he work hard enough to be a next level player we have never, ever, had at QB in KC.

The second is a little bit more real. He's not some 6'5", 240 lb tank like Big Ben. I'm afraid he'll take unnecessary chances with his feet and take hits he shouldn't. While injuries happen in football, we don't need another RG3 on our hands. Plus we don't need more turnovers from fumbles.
While I'm all in on him being the starter, there's going to be some growing pains that we'll just have to accept.

anyone who makes some claim that this kid (who has started in 1 meaningless game) should step in and have mistake free , veteran status NFL caliber play with no set-backs has some sort of agenda...as if we had any chance to go all the way next season if we didnt pull the trigger on the trade and making him the starter

its ridiculous, but people WILL bitch about the growing pains I guarantee it..especially the remnants of the alexsexually transmitted herpes

I'm gonna preface this with the statement that I wasn't an anti Alex guy, and I'm not trying to pick an argument with you.

But I don't necessarily thinking feeling like Pat should step in and take off right away is a bad way to think though. He sat for a year, he should be more advanced than a normal rookie.

He doesn't have experience so it's gonna be some growing pains, but I don't expect there to be a lot.

The mother****ers who defended Alex tooth and nail, can't rip PMII at all. If they do they should be RR'd for said double standard.

Most fans are going to be okay with a guy taking risks if those risks are rewarded sometimes.

We've all seen what happens when you have a QB that won't take risks. I think he'll have a longer leash with most folks than we think.

If he has a mid-season run like Smiff did last year where he can't beat a cover 2 and we spend 6 weeks losing to the worst teams in the league he'll have trouble.

Hell, for 2018-2019, all I want is to be entertained. I'd be pretty bummed if we were worse than like 6-10, but if I see continued growth with a couple of jaw dropping plays a game out of Mahomes and the offense, I'll call that a success.

No shit.

I figure we'll see some games that blow our minds both good and bad. I'm super high on the kid though, I do think he's going to be the best QB KC has ever had.

Thing is, they've already had a wasted year of cheap drafted QB play. They've got 4 left.

Having a Qb on a cheap contract is a HUGE deal. It gets downplayed here too much IMO.

Are you expecting half the team to die in a plane crash or something?

10- 6 is the floor for this team along with a 3rd straight Division Title.

Yeah but Justin Houston is going to be gone when Pat gets paid. He alone is making QB money. Berry will be gone by then and Kelce probably will be too.

Just draft well and you’ll always be in it, especially with a top 10 QB.

It would be impossible for me to be more excited about Patrick Mahomes II. If I became any more excited, my frontal lobe would explode.

You can say "just draft well" as much as you want. Fact is, drafting well consistently is really ****ing hard to do and no one does it that well, that long.

You've gotta have $ to go get free agents and supplement guys around your QB.

Once he gets a big portion of the cap, that's tough.
