Didn't most people buy in during the pre-season last year? You could see he was raw, but he flashed some elite shit too.
I know I'm biased here, but the only QB I'd even consider over Mahomes right now would be Wentz. And personally, I'd take Wentz at like 1G if Mahomes was 1A. He may bust, but the guy looks like should he work hard enough to be a next level player we have never, ever, had at QB in KC. |

all of this 100% anyone who makes some claim that this kid (who has started in 1 meaningless game) should step in and have mistake free , veteran status NFL caliber play with no set-backs has some sort of agenda...as if we had any chance to go all the way next season if we didnt pull the trigger on the trade and making him the starter its ridiculous, but people WILL bitch about the growing pains I guarantee it..especially the remnants of the alexsexually transmitted herpes

But I don't necessarily thinking feeling like Pat should step in and take off right away is a bad way to think though. He sat for a year, he should be more advanced than a normal rookie. He doesn't have experience so it's gonna be some growing pains, but I don't expect there to be a lot. |

We've all seen what happens when you have a QB that won't take risks. I think he'll have a longer leash with most folks than we think. If he has a mid-season run like Smiff did last year where he can't beat a cover 2 and we spend 6 weeks losing to the worst teams in the league he'll have trouble. |

I figure we'll see some games that blow our minds both good and bad. I'm super high on the kid though, I do think he's going to be the best QB KC has ever had. |

Thing is, they've already had a wasted year of cheap drafted QB play. They've got 4 left.
Having a Qb on a cheap contract is a HUGE deal. It gets downplayed here too much IMO. |

Just draft well and you’ll always be in it, especially with a top 10 QB.

It would be impossible for me to be more excited about Patrick Mahomes II. If I became any more excited, my frontal lobe would explode.

You've gotta have $ to go get free agents and supplement guys around your QB. Once he gets a big portion of the cap, that's tough. |

I agree for the most part but I think he will use his arm dangerously not his legs. Smith was good at avoiding big hits sure if nothing else Mahomes learned Smith's survivalist skills. And I believe Mahomes is more likely to throw than take off running like smith anyways so if anything he is prob less likely to get his bell rung/inj running.
