It will be Bray. Not saying I like the idea, but it will be Bray.

But meh, conversations about the backup were a lot more interesting when we didn't like the starter. Now, we just hope Mahomes is indestructible.

I'd rather have someone else as #2 instead of Bray. You can give all the excuses you want, but he just hasn't progressed. I'd much rather see us get a short term deal with a vet and look for another UDFA clipboard holder. While there is some merit to the argument that the offense is not the same since Daniel was here before, it's still the same terminology and he surely can throw a bubble screen.

The Chiefs have shown repeatedly that they don't trust Bray to be the primary back-up QB. See 2016 when they signed Nick Foles. See last summer when Mahomes was quickly elevated ahead of Bray to the primary back-up role.

That won't change this year.
