Chiefs quarterback history since '95

Well this is a depressing, albeit, a mildly entertaining look at the details of the Chiefs quarterback history since Montana's departure. Looking back, I am baffled that we were rolling Steve Bono out there after Joe retired.

He had almost the exact same footwork as Joe. Announcers would rave about it.

Then he had a couple of good games at the start of the year, and a big comeback win over San Diego. And I think he made the Pro Bowl.

Boy the shine came off that turd quick next season.

2010 was similar. It was like my dog had just died, although I had a feeling it was going to anyway. But it still sucked. Especially after Charles made everyone feel REALLY good at the start of the game.

We averaged 6 yards per rush that game and the defense only allowed 7 points even though we had 4 turnovers, including 3 interceptions, and three missed FG’s. But Marty wanted to pass the ball so Marcus only got 16 carries and they put the game into the hands of a journeyman QB and a kicker that should have been cut in week 10.

Marty is easily one of the top 5 dumbest coaches ever to coach in the playoffs right behind fat ****ing Andy.

Charles got his fumble on that game.

He always seemed to fumble when the lights were the brightest.

He was actually a pretty good deep ball thrower. His arm strength was good. His accuracy was just inconsistent in medium routes. I remember in the 94 season when joe was in his last leg he played in a few games and fans were pretty high on him. He played decent most of 1995.

Amazingly, The Chiefs actually brought Bono back as the starter in 96. Started 13 games.

It's kind of funny talking to my non-Chiefs-fan friends (mostly Broncos and Packers fans). They act like our last game was some crazy game that would leave them devastated.

They just don't understand the pain Chiefs fans have endured. We're pretty much numb to this shit at this point.

Can't remember watching the '95 game (I was 8 at the time), but I do remember my dad cursing Bono, (he liked to call him Boner), and everyone wanting to kill the kicker.

That '97 game though, my first actual Chiefs heartbreak. I remember wanting to skip school the next day it had me so shook

First chiefs game I ever attended live, I had the great pleasure of watching Damon Hutard. We beat the faid though, so it was a good day.
