How did you obtain your gloves?

I was walking to work today and it was really cold in Denver. I have a nice pair of gloves that is relatively thin but quite warm, and I was studying them as I walked. I have no idea how long I've had them, but I decided that I had received them as a gift.

I've got probably half a dozen pairs of gloves (2 for running, 3 that I keep in coat pockets, and 1 pair of astronaut gloves that I keep in the closet for really cold days), and of those I've only purchased one pair. It was a $3 pair of those cloth work gloves that I got at a truck stop because I was about to run a race that was much colder than expected, and I had no gloves.

I wonder, though, how common it is to buy one's own gloves. I have a theory that it may be the item that is most likely to be received as a gift instead of purchased.

Poll coming as soon as I can get my gloves off. For the purposes of the poll,
  1. consider the pair of gloves you most recently wore
  2. include only gloves that you own personally (e.g., not your latex gloves that you use when conducting brain surgery), and
  3. include only cold-weather gloves as opposed to dishwashing latex gloves or sanitary gloves that you use to handle your collection of Precious Moments figurines.
