He's no longer an NFL player. While he's been indicted, he hasn't been convicted and if he's not convicted, the NFL will have zero recourse if a team decides to sign him for the 2017 or 2018 season.

If he's convicted of a misdemeanor, they may have some recourse, depending when he signs but it's hardly a foregone conclusion that he'll be reprimanded by the NFL at this point.
