Thanks for keeping this CA native who randomly chose Chiefs as his team (on January 16, 1994) connected to the city he never knew.

If you own a home in the bay area and have a decent chunk of equity you could probably move to KC and live like a King. McMansion, tennis court, etc. If you need a butler to live in your servants quarters let me know!

Congrats! I plan to return in a couple of years too, but I have always maintained a house here. It is a good home, and the no culture comment is ridiculous. While the number of options is lower than a bay area or los angeles, the quality of theater, performance, and art is very high. And for food... I am visiting right now and finally had some time to take in some of the new restaurants and I have had some really lovely meals. The barbecue is not the only thing going on in Kansas City.

I will miss having tons of good sushi everywhere. gotta moderate the eating.

I would imagine you will miss the beauty of living on the coast. But at least you will be more free in the midwest. Not to mention it is much cheaper to live here.
