What about not expecting any major victories or progress but being happy when they do? That's Chiefs fandom 101 right there.

Just a playoff win would be huge in my opinion.

And you're really only dealing with the vocal minority here on CP. The bulk of Chiefs Nation is just slurping down this new regime and their brainy, conservative QB. Every hard working blue collar Joe can see a little bit of themselves in Alex.

At this point I just want a playoff win for the relief it would bring. Just end the stupid streak and make us all feel like there is something competent about the people running the show.

This would absolutely be a start. Hell, I'm such a moron that I've already told myself I'll start giving them my money to watch games in person again when they give me ONE playoff win.

That's all it would take for this city to jizz uncontrollably for years. String a couple together and make an AFC Championship game and it would be the new "glory years" all over again.

We'd be watching Alex Smith videos in 2035, talking about how good our team used to be.

I can't compete with your 'poor martyrs' line, no doubt.

The martyrs must steel themselves early this year, without Houston they will have to be extra hopey.
