"Wins are a team accomplishment," as the Alexsexuals love to point out whenever he loses a game. Can't have it both ways.

That's what kills me about the Alex only fans, they defend him like he's their 1st born infant son while instigating the notion of him being "The most divisive QB ever." In reality it's just isn't the case , the Alex issue is just another QB discussion/debate and nothing more.

Since Alex was traded from the 49ers, Alex smith has actually posted similar but better stats than kaepernick since the trade.
What was his win-loss record like before the 9ers had a top 5 defense (2011 and 2012)?

Yeah, that's what I ****ing thought. Alex Smith is a TRUE leader, on and off the field.
Oh, he can hand off? What a great player! Let's vote him MVP!

I said he wouldn't be mvp. You are focused on stats, and a known alex hater. So meh.

Explain to me why only idiots would worry about the deep ball and stats.

Because that is why people dint like Alex Smith. He will do whatever it takes to win. He had no problem handing off, checking down, running for a first down. Did you hear Jamaal Charles? The chiefs have no explosive receivers. That came from his mouth!

Alex runs the offense exactly as it's supposed to be. Is efficient getting everyone involved. I said he wouldn't win the mvp, he won't ever have the stats. That didn't mean he's not valuable to the team.

I understand your point, but the fact is, if Alex was any good at throwing deeper, he would. Andy loved to go deep in Philly, even though he ran west coast. Granted, our WRs aren't what you want, but even so we would take more shots downfield if Alex was better/more comfortable. If only for the penalties it can yield and keeping the defense honest.

So if we don't go deep because it is a weakness of Alex's, that's an awfully big hit to his value as a QB hence the totally fair, not fantasy based argument that he shouldn't/couldn't win MVP. No matter how selflessly he hands it off to the actual MVP of this team.

I agree completely. I don't think though honestly that alex Smith other than vernon said has ever had a true deep threat. Interesting point of view though.

kaep is supposed to be a bigger deep threat QB than Smith and he doesn't go deep very often, esp this year... too much is relied on "deep ball" any qb can chuck it deep. Its the chess game and reacting fast is what makes a QB successful.. oh and adjusting on the fly

point about kap is... he doesn't have a burner and neither does alex.. neither does the majority of the nfl

He shouldn't win the mvp. But with this new offense, it's hard to believe but he's an excellent technician of it. It will be interesting to see if it's a gimmick and other teams catch on. If they don't and it keeps working, then Andy Reid deserves coach of the year more than Alex Smith deserves mvp.

That's not a slight on Alex Smith. I think jamaal charles has a better shot at mvp if he plays a whole season and we saw in game 2 and 3 they can play well without him.

You mean his win loss record before the team had a legit coach and stability at OC? Pretty bad.

Why can't Alex Smith win MVP? Because he is the third best QB in the division. That is why he won't even make it to the probowl.
