Collins seems to have never recovered completely from playing on the national team before last season. Maybe some time on the DL can get him right.

Joseph should be very nasty and useful if properly used (as a situational lefty). Ned must limit his exposure to RH hitters, or he's going to be disappointing. Also has difficulties throwing strikes, especially when facing RH hitters (who pick up the ball better and can lay off his sweeping slider).

Mariot is an interesting guy... college pitcher whose velocity took a tick up last year and made him very effective out of the pen. As with almost all Royals relievers, he average better than a K/9 in Omaha. Traditionally, Mariot has been a strike thrower, though his walk rate ticked up in Omaha last year.

Yeah. He's a classic LOOGY.

Against lefties, most of them can't pick up the spin from his slider. So he gets a lot of swings on pitches that are not strikes because they can't ID the pitch.

His control struggles - which have been up and down - have mostly been against RH hitters.
