It doesn't matter.

Of course PM does more for every team, but AP did more for his team this year.

That is the bottom line.

This is not an award for post season.

This is based on the value to your team in the regular season.

The Broncos get the playoffs in a bad division, almost regardless of who the QB is.

The Vikings don't get there in a tough division without AP.

Tough call. I think an equally legitimate question could be how many other QB's would've led that Denver team to the playoffs. And then, how many RB's could've done what AP just did. I don't think there's a single RB. He pretty much willed that team to the playoffs. I do think it was probably the most outstanding performance, but he probably won't win MVP.

If you went by cdcox's logic, MVP ballots every season would include Aaron Rodgers, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady and maybe a Roethlisberger or RGIII here and there..

I think you have to take the team's success that (REGULAR) season and decide the guy that contributed most to the team's success.

Look at the change in Generic Win Percentage (an estimate of a teams winning percentage against an average NFL team during the regular season).

Denver 2011->2012: 0.36 -> 0.72

Minnesota 2011->2012: 0.30 -> 0.44
