I signed up for the one in April and need to get off my butt and get in better shape!!!!

The gloves will make it harder to grip. As you go on with the race, water and mud will build on your gloves and it will be impossible to remove all the sludge. The only part of the race that would probably help with gloves are the monkey bars, which are greased, buttered and covered in mud, but they are one of the last obstacles and you would need spot clean gloves for that or gloves with rubber palms. I did just fine without the gloves, but some of my teammates were having problems with theirs on lots of obstacles. Most people will take them off and throw them to the side, you will see hundreds of pairs of gloves, goggles and shirts on the side of the paths haha.

Making great progress with my training. On week 9 of P90X and have been running every Saturday. Toned up a lot and have lost around 15lbs. We extended our run yesterday and did 9.8 miles in just under 2 hours. Not a fantastic pace, but great for me personally especially for the first time running that far. We've typically been doing 6 or 7 miles.

I done Tough Mudder last year in Tahoe it sucked cause we hike the Mt up and down. I finish but what suck is I was cramping the whole way... I train for it by running but the hills what killed me. But I can say I'm a Tough Mudder and I can cross this off my bucket list. Its fun if you get a group of guys with you also you will see crazy ppl running bare feet with rocks on the ground..

Tough Mudder is longer than WD &, from what I understand, they don't time the race. It's about completing it. Where are you doing it?

They time it cause whoever has the best time move on they like take the top 10 I think from every race and go on to another tough mudder later on during the year

Looks like a cool event, but there's no way I'm doing something like this that isn't timed. If I'm going to put forth the effort to train, I want to know how I did against everyone else.

Maybe that makes me narcissistic or over-competitive, but that's just the way it is.

World’s Toughest Mudder is the culminating event of the year with one goal: to find the toughest man or woman on the planet. The top 5% of Mudders from all over the world qualify to participate in this 24 Hour Tough Mudder Event.

You have to be in the Top Mudder to move on to be in WTM

My event is in the Poconos in PA and is in a Ski Resort, so the hills are likely to be bad at this event as well. Where I run has some elevation changes and isn't flat, but we are planning on concentrating on hills these last few weeks.

Keep up the work it will feel great once you reach the end. When they put that orange headband on you and you stock up on water, protein and get your free beer.
