Yeah, it all boils down to personal tastes. I think your list is a good one and that is taking into account that probably over half of the list is comprised of albums that I either dislike or don't give a darn about.

I don't think that "fantastic lexicon of albums" means what you think it means.
At least to me, there's not a huge stretch between PT and RH. There's a little prog in RH's stuff, both have some degree of pop at times, musically they are very adept and intricate and passionate. I wouldn't necessarily define PT as pure prog, especially albums such as Deadwing and In Absentia. Both are guitar driven, with PT being a bit more anthemic and chord heavy and RH being a bit more immediate, but, at least to me, they aren't so far apart, especially Stupid Dream, which, when it was released, was very Radioheadish in terms of it's overall sound (musically, vocally). But that was right on the heels of two of the best records ever in The Bends and OK Computer and there was obviously some influence from those albums on Dream, and as PT progressed, they developed a more unique sound which climaxed with Fear of a Blank Planet.

By lexicon, I was referring to the myriad of albums that each band has which represents it's work in totality. A signature of the band in terms of musicality which keeps them unique and distinct from other bands of their era.

And I did throw a couple of personal faves in there that might not be on some lists like The Melvins and Michael Franti (though I consider both of those albums superb and worthy regardless).

No Iron Maiden and they have Massive Attack's 'Blue Lines' album listed rather than 'Mezzanine'!?

I'm trying to figure out how to shoehorn Fugazi's "Repeater" and The Roots "Phrenology" onto the list...hmmm.

even better still....

but a really bad list imo. Madonna - Ray of Light? wtf... c'mon, any Sarah McLachlan album is better than that. PJ Harvey is just yuck. Plus they picked the worst Sigur Ros album.

Was that a mixtape that I've been unaware of or something? An Outkast/Sugarland collaboration perhaps?

They also called Gillian Welch's album Time (The Reinventor). It's actually called Time (The Revelator). I'm unsure if the mistake is mojo's or the people who republished the list (I'm betting the typo was made during the republication of the list on that site).

Antonym and the Johnsons.

Probably the most ironic/appropriate of them, considering his singing style is sort of gender bending.

It was haunting, and arguably one of the best nights for MTV's Unplugged. Too bad that channel went to shit.

But thank God for Austin City Limit's!
