[Scaring white people] back on the Plaza

https://www.reddit.com/r/kansascity/...gged_at_plaza/

Quote:
Was walking alone to a plaza parking garage at 11 last night (Sunday) and was followed to my car. I was ahead of them by a fair distance.

Unlocked my driver door, got in and locked it. Seven teenagers, red and black hoodies and surgical masks get behind my car, not blocking me in, and one guy walks up motioning me to roll my window down.

Car was running and I couldn’t hear him, but I wasn’t rolling my window down. He yells “Can I borrow your phone to call my mom?” I give him this look like, dude you think I’m an idiot? “Not a chance in hell, move away from my car”. Put it in reverse and drove away.

If you feel like you’re going to be in an unavoidable vulnerable position like that, you can call Plaza security to escort you to your car, or if you’re leaving the bar, ask the bartender to call for you or he can have the bouncer escort you. If you’re a dumbass like me and braved the lone walk and make it miraculously to your parking spot you should turn on your car alarm, call the police immediately and ask the dispatcher to have the nearest unit turn on their sirens.

Don’t open your window, don’t engage. If you’re not in your car, don’t give them the chance to ask you shit. It’s hard for me to not smile at everyone but social rules change when the sun goes down.

I hope this was a PSA to at least one person. And before I get called an idiot, yes, I already admitted to that.

EDIT IN CASE ANYONE DOESN’T GET THE GENERAL MESSAGE HERE:

You are not safe at the plaza. You only have to get mugged once for the lesson to be learned and by then it’s too late. So, heed my advice and always be checking behind you, in front of you, don’t walk beside a structure as you’re taking a corner, give it a nice wide berth in case there’s someone waiting behind it.

Check the surroundings of your car before you unlock it, only press the unlock button once for the drivers side and immediately lock it after it’s been opened.

If you’re on your phone, don’t look like a mark. If you keep doing this every time, it’s second nature. I was lucky that while even being on the phone at the time, my eyes were still checking behind me constantly, my head was on a swivel and I naturally did all of my checks to my car even when I was nervous about what was happening behind me.

It costs nothing! ****ing nothing!!! To be aware of your surroundings!
Quote:
Same group of kids did the same to me last night! Though it was closer to 12.

I was sitting in my car sending a text and they were walking clearly to my car as it was the only one on that side of the garage, one had his hand behind his back, I just drove off and as I was driving away, they stopped and started walking away.

I called plaza security and they said “we’ll keep the cameras on them”

I live by the plaza and have been running at night down by Brush Creek lately since it’s been so hot during the days. I guess it just depends on how you carry yourself. This guy sounds like he walks around the city like a prepubescent child in a haunted house so it sounds like some kids had some fun just messing with him.

There are cameras everywhere on the plaza. Most of the crimes in the area are simple shoplifting incidents. There was a shooting for the first time in a long time this morning and they already have the suspect in custody because he was stupid enough to do it on the ****ing plaza with all the witnesses and cameras.

Remember the good old days when clay lived in his moms basement welched on bets and carried water for D. Huard? The new white nationalist trump apologist version is no fun. Sad really, parents this is what happens if you don’t talk to your kids about what they read on the internet.
