When our kids were really little, we rarely went out to eat because they just can't sit still or stay quiet very long. We would go to brunch but never to dinners. It was our responsibility to take them outside or to the restroom whenever they acted up so others could eat in peace.

As owner of a sometimes crying baby I will say I do everything in my power to quiet the kid down, but you can suck it if you think im giving up my dinner. I work my ass off all week, on top of being the cook, the accountant, the maintenance man, and a dad. I get a couple hours of week to sit down an enjoy a meal I didn't have to cook. You and your drunk, loud ass friends can deal with it~
The caveat is my kid isn't one not to . I can usually get him to quiet down, especially if I ply his face with food. edit: let me also say that I try and find someone to watch him as much as possible, and I wouldn't take him into a fancy place. Any place I would take him is a place that's going to be loud anyway, chain sit down restaurants, and local hangout type places. And again, I can always get my kid to stop so I guess I haven't gotten to the point where he needs to go outside or something. Last edited by hometeam; 04-18-2014 at 04:24 PM.. |

I don't eat in restaurants, always carry out. So crying kids are never a problem.
Movie theaters, though, it drives me nuts. Especially if it's something that's obviously going to be loud and/or late at night. |

If you are at a children's movie then you should expect children noise otherwise they shouldn't be there. Nothing drives me nuttier than watching a pg 13 or up movie with my kid and there's a bunch of 5 year olds running through the movie.

Some years ago I was at a Chiefs game where an infant (guessing 6 months old) was there with his parents. He was terrified at the pregame fireworks and the loud music at kickoff. They had to take him up since he was crying. What would possess them to take him to an NFL game was beyond my ability to reason.

Wouldn't you think that an establishment would post a warning for this aberrant behavior? NO SHIRTS, NO SHOES, NO DISRUPTIVE KIDS = NO SERVICE. Short of this the establishment is simply worried about violating the local health code, not about the dining experience of their patrons.

Not really an issue in my experience. On the rare occasions it happens, the parents (usually mom) deal with it quickly.
