Gottlieb has always been adament that great teams have great point guards, and I agree. But Self's system of constant passing and "combo" guards might be able to make it work.

Earlier we were talking about the problem of having 2 PGs, now we have none? If Self can admit that TT isn't the answer, he's got to give Selby a shot before handing it to Morningstar.

I think it's too late in the season for Selby to try to run it. Maybe it would work, but his assist/turnover ratio is the worst for any guard on the team.

Those really are the 5 options to run the point. I just don't see Selby being in a position to handle it at this point after only 14 games.

No, I don't think it is. But, I think it's becoming more clear that Taylor just isn't the answer at PG. If he would just accept his "Russel Robinson role" (as I'm calling it, this team would be soooo much better. But he wants to be the scorer - and he is never going to be.

That’s putting a lot of the responsibility for last night’s performance on TT. They all played like shit, and with the exception of Reed and Morningstar no one gave 100% effort.

Kstate just made shots at very opportune times everytime KU would get something going. When it's your night its your night.

Does Self make Selby the priority to get him to the lottery (and make KU a more desired spot for future one-and-dones), or does he stick with the guys that have played the best as a team (and face criticism for not giving the “superstar” all the chances to become a superstar).

That he was, is it just a players fear or is it still sore ?

You stand correct, it was a team effort loss.( outside of KSU playing a good game ,Pullen was insane because of lack of defense ). But TT has to defend better, the whole team needs too. For the likes of me, we played man all night except a few times a zone. Why a box & 1 would not of worked is beyond me, make somebody else step and beat us?

We just have to trust in HCBS .

Do you want KU to have more one and dones? UNC and UK aren't exactly tearing it up and I would say Henry and Selby have not lived up to their billing.

He's the only guy on the team who, when healthy, can go from the 3 point line...drive, and score. TT can but his layups only go in about 30% of the time and he can't shoot.

KU can beat these lesser teams as they've shown, but in these tense tourney games coming up KU will need someone with Selby's skillset.

Watching the ball go through Mario Little as the main scoring option and times last night was pretty disheartening.
