I must. I'm on my laptop now -- wireless connection. Where is this mysterious WEP KEY? Is it near the clitoris?

OK, let me rephrase, do you have a modem and a wireless router where you live? Your laptop might be connected to your neighbor's unprotected network, which could be the same network your 360 is connecting to. Shitty signal and crap bandwidth = lag, which you wouldn't really notice on your laptop because you probably don't do anything that requires a lot of bandwidth or low pings. Did you have a wireless adapter on your old 360 or did you have an ethernet cable connected to it?

This is going to make me feel so dumb. I hope you're happy. I believe it's a modem. But, nothing is physically connected into the 360. I had no issues, nor have I installed anything differently old 360 compared to new 360.

Just remeber during your explanation you'll have to talk in "tard" terms for me.
Appreciate you. |

P.S. I'm assuming you went out and got the new Xbox with the wireless already built in?

Yes, I bought the newer, glossy 360. It shows 3 different connections on my XBL that all need WEP Keys. One of them is "2WIRE674." How do I find my WEP key, or how can I reconfigure my wireless connection for 360?

Your options are to do what you did with your old Xbox (connect it to your modem with an ethernet cable). You do remember how it was connected before it broke, right? Or go out and buy a wireless router and set up YOUR OWN NETWORK.

So, the cord is plugged in and I'm unable to connect to XBL.

What is it saying? I'm not sure how the new 360 works, you might have to disable the wireless somehow?

I'm in network settings > Configure network. Wireless mode is off. It has my IP settings and DNS settings.
I test the connection and it shows my 360 is not connecting to the network. It can't obtain and IP address from my router or modem. |

Connect your Xbox to the modem. Turn both of them off. Turn your modem on and wait for it to go through it's little LED blinking cycle then turn your Xbox on. Should be good to go.

There is ONE variable. I go through COX for my cable/internet, so it's their modem, I believe. I'm a bit behind and without either at the moment. This is probably a big DUH, but I think it'd be much smoother if I made my payments, haha.
