In the last 9 seasons,
Brady has 8 playoff losses, 0 Super Bowl wins, 2 losses to Peyton Manning and 2 losses in the Super Bowl. Manning has 7 playoff losses, 1 Super Bowl win, 0 losses to Tom Brady, and 2 losses in the Super Bowl. 9 seasons is a pretty big sample size post Spygate. Hard to argue that Tom Brady is more clutch than Peyton Manning. |

How many wins does manning have for those 7 losses?

I think it's funny that Roger Goodell, the corrupt commissioner of the NFL, destroyed all Spygate evidence so it wouldn't ruin the integrity of the NFL...
and no one wants to talk about it anymore. The Patriots have won ZERO Super Bowls post Spygate. A former Patriot assistant coach ratted them out to the NFL. 3 Super Bowls pre-spygate 0 Super Bowls after-spygate and people want to pretend this is a non-issue? |

You are the one who has turned this thread into Brady vs. Manning. I'll ask you this: if you are coaching a team in the Super Bowl and you have to choose between Brady and Manning as your QB, who are you choosing.

Since Hootie is trying to move the goalposts all over the field, I thought I'd post the definition of clutch:
Quote:
Quote:
By definition, Brady was clutch in 2001, when he drove his team down the field for the game winning field goal. By definition, Brady was clutch in 2003, when he drove his team down for the game winning field goal. By definition, Brady was clutch in 2004, when he led his team to 10 4th quarter points, and the win, when the score was tied after 3 quarters. By definition, Brady was clutch in 2007, when he led his team to the lead with about 3 minutes left in the game. Peyton Manning, on the other hand, was in position to lead his team on a game tying drive when he threw a pick-6 to seal his team's loss in Super Bowl XLIV. I look forward to Hootie now arguing with the dictionary. |

Since I'm an honest guy, and I stay true to my opinion regardless of the attacks I receive...
I'd take Tom Brady. If Manning still had the arm he had in Indy, I'd take Peyton Manning. Now? Tom Brady pretty easily. The point of this thread is to show how hypocritical people are when it comes to the two QB's. Brady has had 10 years of being Peyton Manning in the playoffs, yet one guy is still the choker, and the other guy is still the clutch performer. It's laughably hypocritical. |

In the last nine years, Peyton has gone 9-8 in the playoffs, including 5 one and dones, 3 AFC championships and one super bowl.
In the last nine years, Brady has gone 9-8 in the playoffs, including 2 one and dones, 2 AFC championships and zero super bowls. So I guess if you want to throw out 3 superbowl seasons for Brady, and 3 one and done years for Manning, you can say they are pretty equal. |

the spygate stuff was at home games yes?
not the superbowls or away games, right? I honestly dont know too much about the spygate stuff but if he still got to two superbowls and is 9-8 post season POST spygate it seems thats about what he was doing pre-spygate, no?

His team scored 14 points. His team was favored by 13.5 points. His offense was arguably the greatest offense in NFL history. He also had 30 seconds to get his team into FG range, again, to tie the game. He failed miserably and took another devastating sack. Calling the 18-1 game clutch is laughably hysterical. Give me a break. 2001, 2003, and 2004 were Vinatieri clutch games, no doubt. Brady did his job though, so kudos to the game manager for those. However, I am not recognizing those games, at all, due to Spygate. Barry Bonds was a cheater and gets lambasted for it. The Patriots cheat? The shield and their grimy commissioner sweeps everything under the rug and now no one even cares. Insane. |

He was 9-0. He started his playoff career 9-0. Tom Brady wasn't Tom Brady during that "dynasty", either. He was the very definition of a game manager. Those teams were known for their DEFENSE. But, again, people don't remember that. And, again, people have forgotten Spygate because Goodell swept it under the rug and destroyed the evidence. Read what Kurt Warner has to say about it, and the Pats potentially screwing over the Rams in 2001: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3227592 |
