*** Official 2014 AL Champion Royals Off-season Repository ***

So, I didn't see a thread started, and all the others are pretty maxed out to the point where a fresh thread would be needed soon either way.

Time to share the run up to ST & and another memorable year in the making!

That and trade for Kennedy. That would be great.

The Tomas front has been very quiet. Only thing reported is that he worked out for the Royals and was wearing a Royals uni and had a kc billboard in the background in DR about a few days ago

Trading for Kennedy or Tyson Ross (or Cashner) and signing Tomas would make me very happy and I think would put KC in line to be a better regular season team next year.

I expect the Mariners to add a RF bat (my guess is they trade for Justin Upton). The Yankees and Blue Jays and Red Sox will all make moves. Going to have to raise the team's skill level to stay in the playoff race and take the division.

Kennedy is a safer bet to stay healthy than either Ross or Cashner. Cashner is the best pitcher out of that group.

Why has it gone quiet so quickly?

Everything was pointing towards last weekend having him make a choice.

The media completely blew that one. Some Philly reporter said he was going to fly to the US and meet with 4 teams last weekend, and then speculated that because he's going through all that trouble, then a deal may be "imminent".

Tomas didn't go anywhere, that reporter was just flat-out wrong. He doesn't seem to be in any hurry right now, and he'll work out for whoever wants to fly over to see him.

Exactly his agent said he was suppose to meet with 4 teams is 4 hours but it seems like the Royals are the only ones who went down to see them

Stanton's contract is heavily back-loaded, which he agreed to in order to give the Marlins flexibility to contend soon.

The first 3 years are a total of $30MM, then 25 in year 4, 26 in years 5-6, 29 in years 7-8, 32 in years 9-11, 29 in year 12, and 25 in year 13. There is a $25MM club option for a 14th year with a $10MM buyout.

If he opts out after 6, then he will have received $107MM, and will be turning down 7/218

All this is spot on. Our identification of project pitchers at a bargain and coaching have been superb.
Now, why can't we find a hitting coach to match our pitching coaches?

We don't get that #12 pick. That pick just disappears. Our pick will be a sandwich pick.
