Did anyone really think we were going to beat Chris Sale last night? I mean, come on!

No, we weren't going to win that game last night. We do, however need to win the remaining 2 games with Chi. Matter of fact, we need to finish the month winning 6 of the last 8 games. We do that, and we are still alive. If you look at August, it's not a difficult month. There are 7 games with OAK and 3 with SF, but that's about it. That said, the remaining 8 this month are big games. Finish the month at 54-52, and we can keep hope alive. If we are much short of that, we need to kill it with a fire (sale).

/my last bit of optimism

Is there any pitcher in the league that you're sure we can beat, or is it limited to just being pretty certain that there are pitchers we can't beat?

But one thing is for sure, this team was in your corner, they played like there was no way they could beat Sale.
