Geno Smith vs Alex Smith - It's on.

It's on now. Geno Smith is probably going to be starting for the Jets this season.

Alex Smith will be the Chiefs QB for the forseeable future. If he's a success, we'll probably get five good years out of him.

So who's gonna win more NFL games over that time period?

Put your ten pounders on the table and make a vote

Alex: 11 wins
Geno: 8 wins

He's an idealized Cassel. But when the heavy shit comes down, "Cassel" won't get it.

I'm not going to make excuses for Geno or Smith. Either they get it done or they don't. I do believe that Geno will be the better QB of the two when all is said and done, but right now I'm high on Bray, and Bray is a Chief, so there ya' go.

I wonder where you were during the 5 years of suck after Alex Smith got drafted. I bet you weren't optimistic in year 3. You're a hypocrite and you know it.

Maybe they'll take it at face value, which is what I try to do since I don't have this emotional investment that apparently you and Claynus do in seeing Smith fail so you can be proven right. If he sucks against SF, say he sucks and that's it.

This is no different though than the Smith crybabies coming on here saying that "he checked down" and tried to piss on the parade of scoring a touchdown.

Some have gotten to the point that when we score touchdowns (as rare of an occurrence as you'll find watching a Chiefs game over the last 2 years) people now want to dictate how it's done in order to be satisfied.

It's comical.

Why even entertain his bullshit?

He's a worse troll than Claynus who doesn't offer this board 1/100th of what he does.

Here's my feeling, Smith is a quality starting QB in the NFL. There aren't enough to go around, and several teams don't have one. The Chiefs could've found themselves in that situation, but aren't, it's why I'm pleased with the trade. I disagree about Geno. That's all. I don't think Alex is top ten or anything, but I didn't see the acquirable top ten QB this off season.

You know, if it weren't for Bray, you'd probably be right in your assertion. I understand your desire to see KC field a competitive team, but unlike fans such as Marcellus, I can't just forget about what came before, just because we cleaned house. That would make me kind of an idiot.
I've said many times before that Smith can win some regular season match ups. If all I cared about was the Chiefs remaking the 90's or early 2000's I guess that would be okay. But it's not. That's not acceptable.
Does that mean I'm going to stop being a fan? No. But it sure as **** doesn't mean I'm going to bury my head in the sand. It's a new season with a new regime that will more than likely be better than the last one. You're excited; I get it. And honestly, being ANYTHING other than a league joke is a step up at this point, I will concede that.
But that alone, again, is not enough. I simply will not back off and drink the Kool-Aid until we have addressed the QB position in a manner fitting a franchise that seeks to compete for Championships on a yearly basis.

That's where I'm at.

Nobody with much honesty wants to admit it, but perception of this years draft at the position were skewed heavily because of last years QB goldmine. Some of the guys from this years draft will turn out better than expected, while others will live up to their "billing". It's really nothing new.
Alex can help make us respectable in the league again, but that's about as far as I'm willing to bet on him. I guess for now, it's enough.

Or to the point of ripping on Eric Fisher for rookie preseason snaps, and questioning if he's faking a hand injury. It's a shame Fisher is being dragged into this.
