2nd in receptions, 3rd in yards, 3rd in TDs in the SEC. Obviously Amari Cooper is #1 but Sasser is a good #2.

With Treadwell missing so much time with injury, you'd be hard pressed to find a guy who was more productive.

Pharaoh Cooper at South Carolina is probably the only other guy you could have considered there.

I think with the passing game struggling so much of the year, it just seems impossible that a receiver would actually have numbers that would get him first team. But Sasser did.

Yeah, I guess that's where I'm at; nothing against Sasser at all, I just recall too many drops and receivers having difficulty getting open.

In retrospect, I think DGB would have added one win to our total this year (Indiana). Of course, a healthy Golden likely seals that deal as well. Georgia still would have won and Alabama beats us either way, although both are likely better games with DGB in the mix.

Ultimately, though, it didn't matter much. We ended up in the same place, once again showing that no one player is above the team.

Agreed, especially about Golden. DGB might have made some of the other games not as close, but ...

Before the season I predicted 8-10 wins, and that was with me having too high expectations for Mauk and the receivers. Yet we wound up being exactly where I thought we'd be, just via a different route. Whatever works.

It's hard to say.

You have to think about not just what he adds to the team, but how he affects everything a defense does.

The thing that made DGB so valuable was not just his ability to be a huge red zone threat or pick up a bunch of catches or yards. His ability to take the top off of a defense was impressive, and it changed the way other teams defended Missouri.

Most teams rolled a safety to DGB's side on every play last year, which is one of the reasons LaDamian Washington had such a huge year. That also had a huge, huge impact on the run defense of opposing teams and gave Missouri a lot more room/time to run the ball (which is handy when you run a lot of stretch plays and sweeps).

I wouldn't be surprised if the run game is better for another yard per carry with DGB on the team.

That's enough to beat Indiana, for sure. Is it enough for the offense to avoid going completely blank against Georgia, and struggling in the 4th quarter against Alabama?

Probably not. Sure wish we'd been able to see it work out on the field, though...

Just thought I would throw this out there, he is playing harder and having a better season than Michael Johnson.

So when Alabama wins it all, does that make Mizzou move up to #2?

I am torn as a Bucs fan between desperately wanting a QB and wanting Shane Ray. I want to massacre the NFC South's opposing OLines.

Josh Augusta is the other sophomore DT. Beast. Great size and above-average athleticism for it.

I think they're going to get Terry Beckner out of East St. Louis this year, too. Stud DT recruit who might play outside as a freshman. He's a five-star/top 20 player on every service except for Rivals. Dominated every camp he went to.

Those are the notables.

Reserve DE Charles Harris is a freak athlete like Ray and made big strides this year, but there's going to be a drop-off at DE next year.

Get the Davis twins to flip and Hendrix to transfer (in a year).
