When multiple highly respected guys report different things about the same move, it means there has been no confirmation. Why would they want it to stay hush hush unless there was a secret they wanted to keep? |

One of the biggest complaints from fans this franchise may address this offseason is the lack of or no QB competition for the last 100 years. That is if they draft Geno Smith we could see a real QB battle unfold and that would be cool as ****. They may have traded for Alex Smith and I hate that but with them retaining Brandon Albert another year they open the option to still take QB at number 1 pick.

Geno is the only pick that makes sense at 1-1.

Guys like Glazer and Schefter are legit IMO, and both said 34th + 2nd or 3rd next year Or Schefter actually said "34th + similar pick next year" Outside of Clayton I havent seen any "swap 2nds" reports If the premise of you argument hinges on Schefter and Glazer being wrong, I think it is a longshot at best Unless you think that they still would draft a qb at 1.1 after giving up the 34th + a 2nd or 3rd next year for one? |

I didn't see John Clayton retract it.

I could of swore I read on here he rectracted it
I asked it because I was not sure but thought I read it on here he did Regardless ESPN, the station he reports his info to, is saying like everyone else it was the 34th + a future 2nd or 3rd I dont think the same guy who was adament Shanahan was coming to KC is the one to be trusted when everyone else is saying something different |

Alex has got to be replaced at some point. Either that, or he needs to crawl up a tree, shit out and envelop himself in a chrysalis, and come out a few weeks later transformed into a beautiful magical franchise QB butterfly. |

Something to remember is that the Packers did draft Aaron Rodgers when they had Brett Fafavre as starting QB. That is something Dorsey has mentioned during his opening press conference with us. This is very doable and makes Alex Smiff as a stop gap QB. I can live with it then.

That's true Tattoo, but Favre was alot older and they didn't just deal several quality picks to boot.
I want this to happen and it makes perfect sense to me, but the odds are very low of them thinking along the same lines.

Im sure Geno Smith or whoever would rather have someone like a Terrance Williams out of Baylor to throw to for the next decade than a one year internship under Alex Smith Is Andy Reid unable to cater an offense to a rookie? If he really is the qb guru then surely he can adjust the playcalling and game planning to slowly bring the guy along without having him get too overwhelmed As you see in today's NFL rookie qbs can have success, they don't have to be redshirted anymore These draft picks the Chiefs are giving up are potential 10+ year starters This is just way too much compensation for a nonelite player for me to think he is only viewed as a stop gap |

I'm looking forward to watching Geno hit Bowe in stride, and watching his YAC stack up to the moon. Excitement is back in KC!
