Recap for me, brosephine? * I do agree that the scene was powerful. Jesse is by far my favorite character; I literally screamed when he sped off the Aryan compound. |

I loved it, but I thought they could have shot the choke out better. I know this sounds sick, but when Krazy 8 died he had severe hemorrhaging from his eyes. I think the viewer, who is a participant in Jesse's rage in that scene, deserved that same type of gore.

He told Walt (I think) about how he'd made a wooden box in shop class for his mom and was extremely proud of it. It was the one beautiful thing he'd ever done and which he gave him a sense of accomplishment and self worth (paraphrasing here). Then he traded it to someone for drugs.

Though Talking Bad has somewhat refuted the idea, my wife was talking about how she thought Walt putting the watch on the payphone was a sort of metaphorical foreshadowing Walt being out of time. It's a little cheesy, but I like it.

He discusses the manufacture of a wood box while in an NA meeting. He talks about how he submitted a shitty version and the teacher asked him, "is that the best you can do?" Disappointed in himself, he put forward his best possible effort, getting exotic wood, sanding it to glass like smoothness, staining it with tung oil...only to trade it for an ounce of weed.

I thought of Easy Rider when they toss the watch into the desert.

I loved that, even though his whole family had just been slaughtered, Todd took a moment complement "Mr. White" on the machine gun Walt constructed in the trunk.
That line illuminated the complete absence of Todd's emphatic ability and how dangerous he truly was. It was awesome to see Jesse have the ending he deserved. |

Thanks for the recap; I definitely remember that now.
I love doing it, but sometimes I feel like watching these shows on Netflix ****s me up. I'll literally knock out 5 or 6 episodes at a time. Sometimes it's just too much information to retain in such a short period. |

Has it been mentioned that Felina is an anagram of "finale"? The casette tape that falls out of the stolen car's glovebox is Marty Robbins's album The Drifter, which features the song Feleena. There's probably not much deeper meaning behind its inclusion--the lyrics don't draw many parallels with Breaking Bad-- but that's a fun nugget.

I loved The Wire and The Sopranos, but I've never been so emotionally invested as I was with BB.
