Suffice it to say, I wasn't. I was still in Lawrence back then. That was possibly the greatest KU team ever and one of the best NCAA teams of all time. Would have been a shame to see them go down at that stage.

dude you don't have to sell Kobe as being overrated to me ... I already know that

Kobe is the biggest fraud ever. Sure, top 20 player in NBA history? Ok. Ever the BEST player on his team that won a championship or the most important? No. It was Shaq/Shaq/Shaq/Gasol/Gasol.

The 6/24 was embarrassing and the only reason they won that was because Ray Allen had an equally (if not more so) embarrassing game on the other side for the Celtics.

Whoever anointed Kobe Bryant as a "closer" should be shot in the face. His defining playoff moment, to me, was when he was up 3-1 against the Suns and then he turned on all of his ADMITTEDLY shitty teammates and when shit hit the fan he decided to "prove a point" in game 7 and they lost by like 40. It was embarrassing.

No way! I grew up in Lenexa and as a kid I was a huge Jayhawks mark. I was at the final big 8 championship game at Kemper when Paul put up 30 points. I cheer for the Jayhawks every year. I'm just not much of a college basketball fan anymore. But admittedly, during the Curry mania and the Sczerbiak shit I usually become a pretty big mark and start rooting for the little guy.

Unfortunately, now, there really isn't a little guy anymore. Wichita State certainly isn't a little guy. I guess the Florida Gulf Coasts are still the "little guys"...those are fun. The Steph Curry Davidson squad was "little guys."

in 25 years of doing brackets I've only picked against KU twice. This year, and the runner up year against UK. I had a temper tantrum meltdown when Lamar Odom hit that 40 footer for Rhode Island to beat us when I was in junior high or high school ... and I probably cried for about 30 minutes when we got Bibby'd and Raef missed that 3 to tie it up the Zona year.

I think I see how this works.

Kentucky is 14-0 against teams that made the tournament including a 32 point win against a 2 seed and a 39 point win over a team that's still alive, but they haven't played anyone.

There are 15 other teams still alive. Kentucky is 3-0 against them with an average margin of over 20 points per game...but they only win because of weak competition.
That's not what I'm saying. They win because they're good. They're undefeated because their schedule was relatively weak. Even with our schedule (#1), they're still clearly the favorite to win and the best team. They're just not undefeated. And you would see more cracks in the one and done model like you've seen in previous years from Cal at UK.

Right. In the case of Davidson, there was no Gasol/Artest equivalent. It was pretty much Curry against all comers.
