I'm not a spurs fan either but I like the move for them obviously. I have a lot of respect for them and Pop.

It looks like the Cavs have their sights on a David West trade using the Haywood exception and Rodney Stuckey using their mid-level exception.
If they pull these two moves off, that's going to be one hell of a team. |

West should come to Washington where he would actually play. In Cleveland he will just be on the end of the bench with Mike Miller to watch the team lose in the finals to the Spurs.

He will get plenty of minutes. The Cavs badly need to get Lebron quality bench time especially during the regular season. Even though they'd be crowded with PFs, he can be an additional swing option at PF too since Varejao will inevitably get hurt at some point next season. If the Cavs are healthy and pull these 2 moves off, that's a team that could go toe-to-toe with the Spurs. |

Lebron covers the best player. That would be Aldridge in this case.

By the way, the reason I think they compete only with Stuckey and David West is they can beat the Spurs the same way the Spurs beat the Heat. Through depth. The flexibility and rotations if the Cavs get these 2 guys is just insane. Last edited by chiefzilla1501; 07-05-2015 at 10:08 AM.. |

Interesting. I guess my biggest issue is that you have to hide Kevin Love on defense, but instead you'd be putting him on the best scorer (LMA). The Cavs' options on Duncan are actually pretty good. Since Duncan's more of a PF at C, Thompson and Varejao are pretty good defensive options for that type of C.
