Could QBs actually need elite athletes to catch their passes and get some more yards after the catch?

There's no way that Calvin Johnson helps make Matthew Stafford look good, right?

There's no way that Roddy White and Julio Jones makes Matt Ryan look good, right?

There's no way that Alshon Jeffry and Brandon Marshall do the same for Cutler, right?

The quality of a WR core has absolutely no bearing on how good a QB can be. Same way that a QB doesn't need any pass protection to look good.

If a passing game doesn't look good, it's because the QB can't play football and has nothing to do with the pieces around him.

Actually, I wish they would have gone out and signed Veldheer or Monroe who both signed for 5 year $35-38 mil deals. That's a freaken bargain for a good LT in this league.

Veldheer looked like an ascending player at LT before his injury last year. Monroe was just about as good as Albert. Neither would have cost us as much as Albert did the Phins.
