Geno Smith vs Alex Smith - It's on.

It's on now. Geno Smith is probably going to be starting for the Jets this season.

Alex Smith will be the Chiefs QB for the forseeable future. If he's a success, we'll probably get five good years out of him.

So who's gonna win more NFL games over that time period?

Put your ten pounders on the table and make a vote

Alex: 11 wins
Geno: 8 wins

A ****ing touchdown drive they want to bitch about.

I don't give a **** if Smith throws 8 bubble screens a game and gets 300 yards out of them. I want the ball moving down the field and touchdowns on the board.

Smith did that. You don't get extra points for forcing the ball down the field if there was nothing there.
I'm not really knocking him. Just wasn't impressed. No one should be.

Geno is held to a different standard. He's a rookie. just him getting in a game and completing 6 out of 7 passes! Nice! Real nice!

I know exactly what you mean. I think it comes down to trust. I dont know if you have ever followed the 49ers, but if you watched every once in a while, check out those intermediate to deep balls thrown to Vernon Davis. The main person on offense that Smith trusted, and he did it quite often, with the passes almost falling in his arms. One year he did it soo much that Davis tied the TD record for TE's.

So i dont think its a matter of if he can, or will he. As stated above, its a question of if it's there for the taking and if he can trust the WR or TE that he's throwing too.

Yeah opening drive touchdowns don't impress the assclowns who are butthurt that we didn't take captain of the short passing game and checkdowns as our QBOTF.

I'll say it again, 7 points is 7 points.

If Geno Smith had put together that exact same drive that Alex did, the hate bros. Would have 15 threads crowing about it.

Geno Smith couldn't convert a third down, either

I just watched the opening drive on a large LCD TV instead over a tiny video on a computer screen.

Other than a Saints fan, who could possibly complain about that drive?

Smith was accurate and put the ball only where the receiver could catch it, IN STRIDE, I might add. And, they scored.

So, "mildly competent" over Casshole means it's now time to break out the pom-poms and declare the Dorseid geniuses!

Got it.

Yeah, I seem to recall Gannon completing some VERY beautiful long passes down the sideline, and being able to stretch the field in a very balanced way. Comparing him to Rich Gannon at this point is ridiculous. We'll see.

Um, we DID in fact "take Captain of the short passing game and checkdowns" as our "QBOTF".

And I put that in quotes because he is NOT our QBOTF. He's a mildly competent stop-gap.

They played a scrub defense. Quite possibly the worst d in the entire league. How many times did we see Cassel beat up on scrub d's? Hell, he made a name for himself in 10 doing the same thing we saw Smith do.

By the Geno standard, Tyler Bray had an excellent game too. He went 3 for 7, but keep in mind he had one throwaway and two dropped passes.

Bray looks ****ing good out there. Doesn't cave under pressure, rocket for an arm...needs to get some of his timing and footwork issues cleared up.
