Original thread was getting to large for the board

2011 WS Championship
2012 one win from another WS
2013 two wins from another WS title
2014 Central Division title and NLCS series win (so far)

This is a franchise that has made the postseason 10 times in the last 14 seasons.

Only 1 losing season since 2000.

Reached the World Series 4 times since 2004 and won as many championships (two) the past eight seasons as it did from 1965 to 2005.

Our new Manager has more post season experience than any other manager in baseball, except the Giants manager.

Made the NLCS 8 times

Three million attendance? Take it to the bank.

60 post season wins since 2004. 20+ wins more than any other team.

The only real avenues toward improvement that the Cardinals have this offseason are on the bench. They need a RH bench bat that can platoon w/ Adams against lefties.

CF is bereft of FAs, so if you are trading Jay, what are you trading him for?

He was still a 3+ WAR player this year and one of the ten best hitters in baseball in the second half.

He's still a productive player, but it probably would be wise to use him more judiciously in the future to avoid injuries and fatigue.

Maybe Wong, Taveras and Adams can each give you 20 home runs each or all together give you 60 home runs. Holliday gives you 15. Peralta gives you 18. Grichek or the other OF gives you 12. Carpenter hits 12.

That gets us to 130 home runs.

FWIW, the team will have another $13 million to play with on the bench because they'll be free of the Wigginton and Ellis disasters, and Craig was scheduled to make $5.5.

I was thinking before the postseason on adding a power hitting 3B and moving carpenter to 2B. But now Wong's mental stability has caught up to his bat speed. No way you trade for 3B or 2B. Adams is set at 1B.

I just hate Jay.
