Seems equally likely that he's Marcus Cooper.

Had we traded Cooper after his rookie year to some team for a 7th, every fan of that team would've said "hot damn! starting CB with solid skills for a 7th? {insert guy} is a baller-ass GM!"

It wouldn't have to be that Chip Kelly is stupid, it would have to be that Chip Kelly is stupid and all other GMs in the league were also a little stupid in that none of them offered a 6th or even a 2017 7th. The guy appears to have precisely dick in terms of trade value.

That probably means something. But hey, he started 13 games out wide and didn't step on his dick - that's better than the backups we had. Probably.

I'm interested to see Acker tonight.

Who else should I be concentrated on?

I don't know anything about him, other than the stats I've read, so he may have already hit his ceiling.

That said, I'm in agreement that he's likely a better option in 2016 than the rookies, Cooper, Fleming and whoever else is left out of that steaming pile of hot garbage.

If he's 2013 Marcus Cooper for the 2016 Chiefs, then this is a championship team and I won't care if he's a one year wonder or a 5 year starter.

Cooper never played CB before the NFL and I think that's what has doomed him. He had a handful of good games, then realized he has no feel for the game. He can't read routes well and essentially just performed well in 2013 in large part due to our pass rush.

In college, Acker made the Top 10 in Conference USA for punt return yards, interceptions, interception return yards, interception return touchdowns, and passes defended.

I think Dorsey saw this kid and not only liked his measurables, but also his production which has seemed to translate to production in the NFL.

After all, Dorsey did draft a CB who had an amazing amount of passes defended in Conference USA a few years ago. Good gamble to take for a cheap contract and 2018 7th rd pick...and he's going to be our 3rd or 4th CB.

It also still had Acker listed as a 49er even though it was written yesterday

That's stupid.

Acker was solid but he wasn't a top caliber CB.
