That's 90 percent of sports fans though. Te majority of fans use sports as an outlet for their self fearing boring lives. It's a 3 hour outlet from whatever sucks at home.

It seems to really upset you, but it is what it is.

We're not winning shit with Alex Smith, much less if he goes down. Not like we're a serious contender. Thats a lot of money we could be spending elsewhere. You have two young guys you apparently like, move them up a slot and save the cash.

I'm torn on the backup QB thing. If your QB goes down for a long period of time, I'd rather have a developmental guy there.

1 half or 1 game, give me the vet.

Tough aituation

Doesn't upset me in the least, I actually feel sorry for people like that. Makes me wonder if they live their entire life in denial, or just during football season.

Good news about Charles!

And I'm really curious how Smith does this year. I don't see how he could have played much better in that loss to the Colts in the playoffs, especially having JC out early in the 1st quarter. Hell, I'm glad he's our starting qb, at least for now.

Again though, that's what sports are for. It's an outlet for some. Not everyone takes it as serious as you or I.

Hell, I wish I could be a fan like that sometimes.

Watching and appreciating other players is why I love this game. There is so much ridiculous talent in this league. If all I watched were the Chiefs, I'd have given up on football a long time ago.

I've tried to avoid most of these conversations all offseason because I don't know what to expect. I'm not sure anyone else does either.

First half (8 games): 59.1% completions, 6.28 yds/att, 9 TD, 4 INT, 82.1 rating
2nd half/playoffs (8 games): 63.5% completions, 7.07 yds/att, 18 TD, 3 INT, 101.8 rating

Alex Smith played pretty well in the 2nd half. It was kind of lost in the mix somewhere along the way. I don't know if I expect him to repeat those numbers, but I do think Andy Reid has a pretty solid history with QBs. I almost have more faith in him as Smith. Although Smith was a #1 overall pick. Which is why I think the comparisons to Bono and Cassel are not solid. He was another team's backup, but he was actually considered a potential starter, not a GM's pet 6th round pick. Smith was basically a 4000 yard/35 TD/10 INT QB the last half of the year. We'll see if he actually gets all the way there this season.

Then again, the defense allowed over 28 ppg in those last 8 games mentioned above. If that happens again it's not going to matter what Smith, or Charles, or anyone does.

I gotta get to bed.

Back to JC, I'm glad they were able to get a deal done that doesn't **** us long term. JC gets what he wants, and our best player is back in the fold without hurting our chances of getting Houston signed.

Got it.
I'm not changing a ****ing thing.

You're the one that threw out numbers.

I gave you the wins that matter.

Regular season means jack, except winning enough to get into the playoffs.

I would think Dee Ford is the backup plan to Tamba, not Houston, and as of now, Houston is at camp. They have time.

Good to see Jamal Charles signed without a holdout. I'll be taking him 3rd overall in FF!
