Why do black people cross the street so slow?

I live in north Scottsdale/PV area which is not diverse. I am the first to admit I don't get inner city. On several recent occasions I've had to drive down town for business. Every time I have, including today, I've had to sit at a light waiting to turn because a black person deliberately walked as slow through the intersection as they could. Other people walked by them at a normal pace but they just sauntered. On one occasion the person looked at my car and actually slowed down even more.
What the hell? Am I imagining this or is this some kind of thing?

The OP's question has truth in it even if people think it's racist. Any question involving race makes one a racist these days, it seems.

No matter who is crossing the street these days, I have noticed much more of a f*** you attitude...and I'll take my sweet time because I got nowhere to go.

There is a general lack of respect in our society. In certain situations, you see it on display.

I'm not going to act like those two situations are the same though. One is one of the first civilizations that we know of, the other is supposed to be the greatest this planet has ever seen in modern times.

Ancient Egyptians were one or two steps removed from hunter gatherer status. The world believing they used slaves to build an ancient wonder 4500 years ago does no more to tarnish their current reputation than the atrocities Genghis Khan committed to the Mongolians

On the other hand, the Civil Rights Movement was just 50 years ago.
They found the mass grave on the plateau. If they were just Egyptian citizens and not slaves, they sure didn't respect how they handled their Dead citizens. Who engineered Giza is up for debate, but who did the bulk of the work isn't.

Simple power trip. They do it because they can. I hate the term passive aggressive, but the picture in the dictionary must be a couple of black guys slow-shuffling in a crosswalk while a trucker in a big rig sits at his green light waiting for them to clear out before he misses the light cycle.

Some people at the bottom of the power structure will do anything to feel even a hint of power -- even if it is nothing more than the power to annoy and inconvenience others.

When I lived in San Francisco, i would lay into my horn until they got both feet on the pavement, the same as I did with all the Chinese women who pretended not to see you while you are waiting at a green light for them to finish crossing, but watch them about to miss a bus and they will sprint two city blocks faster than Jamaal Charles.

Almost all the drivers were sheep who just tolerated all the lawlessness. Not me. I would lay into my horn with a long blast at the slow pedestrians trying to cheat me out of my light cycle. Some used to about jump out of their skin from shock, because they were used to all the sheep just silently taking it.

The only consequence I ever suffered was when A homeless jerk kicked my truck bumper for honking at him for holding me up at a green light by slowly shuffling across the intersection. After he got to the sidewalk, I just gunned the motor and shot forward and then hit the brakes. I wasn't even aiming at him, but he leaped straight up like a cat. I just yelled, don't mess with a guy in a 4000 lb weapon. I left him fuming.

I am no tough guy. I was just a guy who had my fill of shit from ill mannered, selfish, inconsiderate city people and came to the point where I wasn't going to just take it anymore.

I'm not saying you're lying, but I couldn't find any sort of evidence supporting the idea that slaves built the pyramids at Giza outside of a spotty text from Herodotus (who didn't even visit Egypt until 2,000 years after they were built) and some old, American films.

Everything that I've been taught and have read recently supports the fact that the pyramids were built by ordinary citizens. They were enlisted and they worked tirelessly, but they thought it a great honor and were given proper burial in tombs stocked with items for the afterlife.

Honestly, it seems to me that most people, including even modern science up to 20-30 years ago, just couldn't accept the fact that ancient civilizations were a bit more capable than they'd like to give them credit for- so it had to be hundreds of thousands of slaves, working day and night under the crack of the whip until they keeled over and died.
