For what it's worth, I don't think it was that big of a reach at this point in the draft. I probably would have taken him with one of my three picks coming up. Dieon was even on record at the combine saying he thought Mathieu was legit and would eventually be a stud in the NFL. I'm also a bit disappointed Lemonier went off the board before this pick. I liked him too!

Not that I really disagree, but I don't think we can use Deion's opinion of him as anything. He sat down with the kid and it became pretty clear he was acting as his publicist in that segment on NFLN.

I definitely see what you're saying and usually I do take his opinion with a grain of salt concerning such things or players. However this time or some reason I actually believe him and think he may be right. Despite his possible character red flags that may or may not still exist, dude was an excellent very productive DB while at LSU. I think he can play corner or safety and is a bit of a ball hawk also. I can't really put my finger on it, but something about the way he plays, minus the elite speed, kinda reminds me of Charles Woodson.

Well, I am moving to Miami very soon you know...I might have to go to some Dolphins games now or something...could be fun to watch. You know they are going to air it out plenty with just Wallace and Hartline alone.

Moving on now, this pick is a bit complicated for the Vikings because as I understand it, they are courting Greg Jennings today. I wish I knew whether or not they were going to sign him, because there were two players I had it narrowed down to for this pick. I suppose I'll proceed under the assumption that they will make their best offer to Jennings knowing they need all the WR help they can get at this point. So with that being said, the Vikings select...Jordan Poyer CB Oregon St.
