This was not on the refs

Bob Sutton. Andy Reid.

These are the people who can cost us the playoffs.

But I hope we find a dynamic staff that can get these DBs to play average and that maybe enough for our bazooka on the other side of the ball.
I don’t think management can polish this crop of turds in this secondary. Good news is we have a QB so we can start addressing our needs on defense in the draft.

Management really did drop the ball on this group of DB’s.

Why is it as the NFL has become worth more money the saturation of refs calling penalties constantly has gone up significantly?

They've created a league where after big plays no one celebrates in the stands cause they look for flags first. So there is always a pause to see if anything is called...that is the environment they have created.

Then people honestly wonder why there is a discussion of games being rigged.

Orlando Scandrick was signed 2 weeks before the year started...Parker was brought back what 7 days before the year started? Yea it's not their fault Veach was to stupid to realize the secondary sucked while you know the draft was happening.

He had more fun drafting fat backup front 7 guys who didn't make the front 7 any better either.

I can't find like a chart or whatever for a history of flags, but I did find an article saying that flags are up 20% since 2009 (article was written after the 2016 season, but there's no reason to believe it's gotten any less):

https://247sports.com/nfl/dallas-cow...2009-48360555/

It's definitely a real thing, and it's ****ing up the game. Then when you add that many of these penalties are subjectively called (PI, Holding etc) it's hard to argue the idea that refs are at least trying to make the games more competitive. I don't think it's directed at specific teams, but it seems more that they are wanting to influence the outcome of games, regardless of who the winner is.

And as a Chiefs fan, I of course feel we get jobbed an awful lot, but just ask any passionate fan of their team in the NFL and they will say the same. Unless they are Pats fans...then they should just hang themselves...

Really though? I mean, not a single player has ascended. I mean, you can whiff on a pick here or there, but not a single guy? I mean that's gotta be on the coaching, right?

Measurably, the kids we've drafted should have had a chance to be good. And not a single ****ing one became better in their time here. Not a one.

I mean, even Peters was the same guy he was in year one.

1981 draft San Francisco first 5 picks 4 of them DBs. 3 of them started that year. San Francisco won the Super Bowl. Before free agency you drafted for need.

Yep, the refs are ruining the game in so many ways it's ridiculous. No way I'm dropping $600 to see a zebra, yellow flag throwing contest.
