Hurricane Jose

Forecasters expect Jose to continue along that track until a high-pressure ridge also influencing Irma's course is pushed out by a trough over the next few days, allowing both hurricanes to take a northern turn....

Then, after a chance for rapid strengthening in the next 24 hours, Jose is forecast to begin weakening within 72 hours as the storm starts encountering wind shear, according to the hurricane center.

Reading some interesting history of these b hurricanes when the hit smaller Caribbean Islands. In the 1920s 3000 dead from a bad hurricane that hit the Bahamas. Three thousand! That's a lot for such a small area.

I'm going to a neighborhood Hurricane watch party Friday night. Now, that it appears to be moving east from us, the long time residents, in this neighborhood at least, are back to their indifferent ways.

I'm going to continue to prep but it looks like I don't have to leave; keeping in mind any turns in her path. I doubt it though, that lp trough is there.

7-Eleven out of gas but not the Mobile. Got a full tank and done driving around.

This hurricane at least showed me the holes in my long term prepping plans. I will have to fix them after this cane for the rest of the season and/or beyond.

My daughter is on the ground floor of a fairly new building. Hope her building has hurricane glass windows. I'm glad she didn't move to the beach, as she was planning to when her lease was up.
