It's when the in-state mid-majors start demanding a home-and-home that things break down.
SEMO, UMKC and SIU-E have not beaten Mizzou at all (or at least in recent memory). Keep in mind that Mizzou's loss to MSU was in the preseason NIT, so Mizzou had no choice. I assume the home and home thing is a standing offer from some time ago, but we don't really need it. Arkansas, Oklahoma State, and other major programs are and have been willing to visit JQH.

If it were up to me, I'd accept the one-off in Columbia.

I'm guessing most on their bandwagon are KU fans, but it would be funny to see them go further in the tourney than KU. Especially since KU won't play them.

Not at all. The Shockers are cool with me tbh

@RealSkipBayless
Wiggins minus Embiid equalled 2 Kansas getting upset by 10 Stanford. I'm just not seeing NBA greatness in Wiggins.

I think you're chalking up way too much to one game - three coaches and one athletic director ago.

I know Missouri has told ADs at SMS, SLU, SEMO, UMKC, other local schools (SIU, SIU-E) that the Tigers always have room for a home game against their school.

The Bills and the Bears just aren't OK with anything less than a home-and-home. It's that demand that keeps the games from happening. Well, that and the fact that the Bills and Bears only make noise about wanting to play 2-3 times a decade.

Weren't too many SLU fans begging to play Mizzou in 11-12, for example. They only want to play that game when they think they could win.

They might win three games this year (counting the spring game)!

Mizzou has been far from enthusiastic about playing Missouri State, even back when we first moved to D-I and were more willing to play Mizzou exclusively in Columbia. This kind of behavior isn't exclusive to Mizzou - Arkansas refuses to play Arkansas State in anything, Alabama undercuts UAB's football program by holding back funds and preventing certain hires (Jimbo Fisher being the most well known), etc.

In some ways, it makes more sense for us to try and get a semi-regular series going with Arkansas - they're closer and have more fans/alumni in the area. Tulsa also draws a good crowd when they visit.

I'm right here. I warned on the KU thread that this wasn't the gimme people thought, we didn't shoot well from outside the last several weeks.

The biggest compliant I have is that Bambi was banned. I could feel an epic, glorious, guns-blazing tirade against Tharpe coming based on his post yesterday. But sadly our mods deprived us all.
