The speculation is that that is where her injuries came from.

From the defense attorney Ramsey I think the name was.
If you read the lawyer who has gone through the transcript he says the defense was laying the foundation for the trial.
Asking questions about rough sex is what alluded to the possibility.
And as he stated again and again the defense isnt the ones who have to provide evidence or show their hand. It was little seeds of info being let out

She's lying. According to her testimony Hill savagely choked her enough to cut off her air and then beat her up for a while, then grabbed her my the throat and smashed her head against the wall. She says she was fighting back during this but the only mark looks like a hickey? Come on. On the secret insurance recording Hill says "I never choked you" she casually replied "you had your arm around my neck"
