Been wanting to watch The Walking Dead for a while, and finally got around to it. So I've watched each episode to date, and I've got to say, really, really awesome show. Very much looking forward to the second half of season 3.

The trade paperbacks (book of 6 issues) is about $10 to $15 each. I have the first 15 trade paperbacks, which works out to 90 issues, and I've spent probably about $120 total. I need to get caught up though, I haven't read the comic in a while and I got spoiled on a major plot point. It pisses me off when someone just spoils something for you without thinking. Basically a co-worker, who doesn't even read the comics said, "Yeah be prepared in the show because in the comic ____________ dies." |

I finished "Apocalypse Z" a few days ago, and I am about 60 pages into "World War Z" right now.
So far, "Apoc" is 10 times better. I am not digging the interview type reading. |

Alright, now I am a 1/3 through WWZ, and it is awesome.
Running zombies in the movie is stupid. If they match the book, it would have been great. |

I guess the 28 Days Later version of the zombie plays better on the big screen? |

I think that we dug into that WWZ issue somewhere on this board.
A lot of us weren't sure how well it would translate to the big screen. It's a kick ass book but would that format make a kick ass movie? Apocalypse Z just got added to my Amazon Wish List. |

Also, I mentioned earlier that I had checked out the Walking Dead video game on Youtube. I watched every bit of Episode 2 last night. The shit is pretty damn good; like watching the show...

Apocalypse Z is a book written in diary form, but it reads almost as 1st person real-time.
It is also set in Spain, which at first I thought would be a bad thing, but it ended up adding a lot of cool elements that a zombie book based in the US wouldn't present. I definately recommend it. It would make for a pretty sweet movie, too. |

Day by Day Armageddon is my favorite of all the zombie books I have read. The author, J L Bourne is active duty officer in the Navy and it shows in his writing. The book is written in the form of a personal journal and it is a bit dry. The details are a bit sparse at times too. Still, the writing is very gritty and the story is the most plausible zombacalypse scenario I have read. DBDA is better than all the variations of Romero zombie theme type books IMHO. if you buy the Day by Day book, go ahead and get the two pack that has Day by Day Armageddon: Beyond Exile included.

HINES WARD WILL PLAY A ZOMBIE ON THE WALKING DEAD
After playing a zombie on NBC's Sunday Night Football set for 17 weeks, Hines Ward is about to take that role to AMC (rim shot?) The former Pittsburgh Steeler and developing broadcaster will appear as a zombie extra on the hit AMC series The Walking Dead on Feb. 10, courtesy of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Ward got hooked up with the role by IronE Singleton, who played with Ward at Georgia and also plays the role of T-Dog on the show. "A former Georgia teammate of mine is one of the stars of the show, and my agent thought it would be something fun and different for me to do," he told the Post-Gazette. NFL Films Presents also went behind the scenes with Hines Ward, detailing his transformation from NFL analyst to playing the undead. "It was an amazing experience," Ward said. "Just being in makeup preparing me for my role was cool. I actually scared myself when I looked in the mirror for the first time after."

Yea, I watched Toby Turner play the entire game on YouTube. Absolutely incredible game. Completely different characters and storyline, but just wow.
