I don't think the chiefs are weak opposite peters. Unknown maybe, but they haven't been getting torched.
Houston is a big addition (if he's healthy and normal, which we'll see) to all aspects here in what he will do for everyone. With houston, you can't chip ford, you can't always do u le poe etc. 2 legit rushers outside improve the pass d as well. The defense got torched against the steelers. Outside that, they're doing a bang up job against legit offenses. |

Peyton's numbers from last season 59.8 compl % 224.9 yds/gm 9 TDs 17 INTs 67.9 Rat Alex Smith this season 66.1 compl % 227 yds/gm 8 TDs 3 INTs 90.3 Rat Obviously stats don't tell the whole story but come on. It's not even close... Last edited by PAChiefsGuy; 11-14-2016 at 12:42 PM.. |

If you still think Peyton was better last year then I think you are simply an Alex hater. I'm not saying Alex is great, he isn't, but he is not as bad as many on here make him out to be. He's a good manager who can sometimes play at an elite level and sometimes play like sh*t. Not having the best year as of now but plenty of time to turn things around. |

If the safety isn't there, it's a dart to Hill and he walks in. With the safety there, he needed to put more air under it to try to loft it up and over the coverage. It was the safeties ability to close that made it look like an underthrow when I don't really think it was (though I could be corrected). In either event, it wasn't like the Foles underthrow the week before; Hill was still running and would've caught it in stride, he just had to flatten out a little bit to change the angle on it. Without the safety, it works like a charm and it's a TD. But again, because the speed seemed so far beyond Smith yesterday, I think he just completely failed to look that safety off or at least check to see if he was there. He just looked so much like a rookie out there. That's the best way I can describe it. He just looked like he'd forgotten everything about how quickly things move, knew it and panicked.

What I said was, I disagree with you that Alex is "a lot better" this year than Peyton was last year. That is literally all I have been arguing. And it is funny that you are using counting stats to compare the two, when the Alex Fan Club has told me over and over again its all about the percentages, ratios and efficiency. When you include those stats, there is absolutely no way you can say that one QB was "a lot better" than the other....which is the only thing I have been saying this whole time. |

Manning missed 5 straight games at one point and at the end of the 5th game he STILL led the league in interceptions. Everything else is multiplying by zero. He wasn't Kurt Warner out there throwing bombs because the risk was worth the reward and he was capable of 4500 yard and 40 TDs. No, he was throwing wounded ducks and 2-3 interceptions a game while being completely immobile in the backfield. Alex Smith is playing poorly this year but if you wouldn't take him over what the Broncos got out of Manning for most of last year, I suspect you weren't paying much attention. Manning was ghastly.

He is but I don't understand why smith is playing so poorly. I mean, what's changed here?
To me, he looks terrified in the pocket. It's a 2 count and then his eyes are down and he's looking to move. If he's mentally shot in the pocket, they've gotta move on |

Once QBs start watching the rush, it's over. Very few of them ever really break free of it. Smith isn't nearly as bad as some guys I've seen...but he was yesterday. If that's the new normal for him, we'll have no choice but to move on.
