GRAMMYS Kanye West storms Grammy stage over Beck's surprise album of the year win

Rapper Kanye West reprised one of his most infamous stunts at Sunday night's Grammy awards, unexpectedly taking the Staples Center stage as Beck was accepting the album of the year award.

The singer-songwriter's win was the unquestioned shock of the night, as his "Morning Phase" album beat out both the night's top winner, Sam Smith, and the category's expected winner, Beyoncé.

Beck seemed as surprised as the rest of the audience when he won the award and appeared to be looking around for help. That's when West popped up on stage and moved toward Beck as if he was about to take the trophy. Instead, West turned away and quickly jumped down, but not before getting guffaws from Beyoncé and her husband, Jay z

However, West wasn't laughing after the show, ranting that Beyoncé should have taken the gong for her self-titled album.

Appearing on the E! network's aftershow, West said, "I just know that the Grammys, if they want real artists to keep coming back, they need to stop playing with us. We ain't gonna play with them no more. And Beck needs to respect artistry and he should've given his award to Beyoncé.

"Because when you keep on diminishing art and not respecting the craft and smacking people in their face after they deliver monumental feats of music, you're disrespectful to inspiration," West continued. "And we as musicians have to inspire people who go to work every day, and they listen to that Beyoncé album and they feel like it takes them to another place."

"For pop music like Beyonce or Katy Perry and such".

90% electronic, 90% someone else's vision... mmmhhhm, just about what I thought. But the fact is, I didnt even need Dane to tell me that as an overall artists... Beyonce doesnt have shit on a guy like Beck.

And neither does Kanye... Yeezus, what an egotistical turd... and its not just a one time thing either, dude is CONSTANTLY compairing himself to some historical hero.

I wish him and his wife would die in a papparazzi induced car chase crash.

To be fair, it's actually Cher who's responsible for the Autotune fad. Her producers were the first to figure out that setting the Autotune on the highest level produced that robotic-sounding voice.

I actually don't mind Autotune if it's used for an actual purpose (as opposed to just hiding an untalented singer). For example, with Kanye, his use of Autotune on 808's and Heartbreaks was a purposeful artistic choice because the "Cher Effect" fit in perfectly with the cold, minimalist beats.

Whats ultimately the most hilarious thing to me, is that Beck kissed that jackoffs ass "oh yeah he's right, Beyonce should've won"... dude is Hollywood to the core, wasnt even faking that statement I'm sure, absolutely PC just to maintain "cool" status IMO.
How is it a cop out? In this whole thread have I even talked about the award? Go through my posts. I have talked nothing but Kanyes and Beyonces music. I haven't said anything about Beyonce deserving the award more than Beck or Beck not being extremely talented. So wtf are you talking about?

Kanye can say what ever the **** he wants to say. Just like you can say what you have to say about who you believe should have won or shouldn't have won. I think it's funny that people criticize famous people for being PC and then when they're honest and say something controversial, people get pissed off.

Kanye has always and will always say controversial shit. He has no filter. Next year, when something shoves a microphone in his face, he'll tell them what he thinks. People just have to live with it. You can either ignore it or you can have this faux outrage that the media wants you to have.

Theres nothing faux or manufactured about it, King.

He is the single most hyped beyond reason, egotistical, loudmouthed, racist, talentless piece of shit so called artist I've ever had the misfortune of hearing about over and over and over.

The sooner some jealous rival guns his stupid ass down, the sooner I wont have to hear about him anymore.

That's pretty harsh, Dude. It's music. If you don't like an artist, don't listen to them. Change the channel, change the stream, move on to another video or whatever.

Music is supposed to bring joy into our lives, not anger.

And when did someone have to play an instrument to be great. Kanye plays some instruments while making his beats. He's no prolific at it or anything but he can when he needs to. But what's wrong with that? What's wrong with someone using a computer, keyboards and machines to make their beat?

And the media will ALWAYS put a mic in his face because people like you seem to care about what he has to say and for some reason react to it.

I'm sorry but it's not "Genius" to use a bunch of pre-made loops in Logic along with a few hardware and software synths.

10 year olds can do it. 5 year olds can do it. There is NO music creation happening because the loops are included with the programs.

No composition required.

Just wow.

King, if you want to do this, buy an Apple laptop and Logic for $199, watch a few YouTube videos in order to find your way around the program and have at it.

Pre-recorded loops and grooves that can be moved to any pitch, copy & paste, add as many layers as you'd like, sing and auto-correct to your heart's content.

Boom. You're an EDM star.

It's not as easy as you are trying to make it out to be. Why don't you do it just for kicks. Download FL studio and have at it.

I know what programs they use and how they do it. But I also know what a piano player uses and how they do what they do. Doesn't mean I can play as well as they can.

Not necessary. In the past 15 months, I've placed more than 2,000 cues on network and cable TV, scored national ads, a feature film and more.

Suffice to say, EDM and Urban aren't my given genres and chasing that dragon would be just that: Chasing the dragon.

Most of the people you've cited can't technically "play". It's all about the grid.

I think people who just hate Kanye for whatever reason are actually more upset about this than Beck actually is. This is the most headlines he's gotten for.. well, pretty much his entire career. He must be thrilled.

LOL at the idea of Kanye being "gunned down by a jealous rival".

He's not a ****ing gangster rapper. Pete probably has more of a chance of being robbed at gun point than Kanye does getting offed by some random.
