Let's talk about the Jaguars

No rest for the weary. The train keeps rolling on.

This is going to be a huge test, but at least its at home.

How does this one play out?

Even if they're running horizontally, the Chiefs still can't tackle for shit.

Some amazing matchups in this one.

Jack/Smith on Kelce/Harris
Ramsey/Bouye on Watkins/Robinson and Conley
Hill on a reserve slot corner
Fisher/Schwartz against Ngakwe/Campbell/Bryan

This is gonna be a classic game.

Mahomes has never seen a defense as good as the one Jacksonville has. Not many teams have. That defense is absolutely stacked and our offense is just as stacked.

I can see a game that Jacksonville might have the personnel to force Mahomes into a bad game if they score early....but I can see it playing out with Mahomes throwing strike after strike and Reid calling a balanced attach that opens up some big passing plays.

It’s gonna be very entertaining to see how it plays out.

Wish this game wasn't in the rain. Not gonna help the offense any trying to throw it around in a downpour.

Arrowhead is going be jacked...weather might be an issue. I'll take Mahomes/Hunt in shitty conditions....Hunt never fumbles.

Officiating may be slanted in this one...Chiefs have the most hyped player in the NFL. He is slated to face off with Brady next week on SNF...they already know they have a ratings clunker with Cowboys vs. Texans.

Undefeated Mahomes against a legend...at home. Rematch of the season opening rout...

Jags have the most penalty yards in the league so expect them to get flagged a lot seems to be par for the course.

I posted this somewhere else, but it seems worth a repeat...

So, the Jags defense is good. But, after spending some time looking at who they played, and how those teams have played in the other three games, I don't think the Jags defense is out-of-this-world good. The Titans game is the only aberration, where they held a team to unusually low points.

Giants - held to 15 points. Cowboys D held them to 13 and Saints held them to 18 points. ( Eli and the whole offense is terrible )
Patriots - held to 20 points. Lions D held them to 10 points the following week. ( Pats doing their usual slow start )
Jets - held to 12 points. Dolphins held them to 12 points and the Browns held them to 17 points. ( Rookie QB came back to earth after week 1 )

I think the defense is going to be comparable to the Broncos and the Jags offense is hurting and missing the playmakers they had in the past. And our experience playing against a good defense last week will help this week.

The Jags defense is still top of the line it just isn't quite as good as it was last year because some of their key guys mainly their DL are starting to age.

Their talent level is very high level but here's the difference that's it just how they play, with talent. They don't disguise much or really do anything exotic or confusing. They play like 3 defenses all game and go, you can't beat our talent..it's when when a team like Pitt can beat their defense it turns into 40 points.

As Chiefs fans all too often in the past we have been in the situation the Jaguars find themselves in with a top defense and generic play it safe offense. Like them we always convinced ourselves we were better due to experience, defense, run game or something else. But it basically never worked out that way when playing a top QB.

The defense, though talented, would get somewhat exposed when confronted with an elite offense. The defensive ranks it would turn where a bit elevated due to some weaker opponents. They would play okay but not good enough to overcome the offensive issues, especially on the road. More importantly the other QB would make the one or two plays needed to extend drives and put up an extra couple of TDs with us kicking field goals instead. As a fan base we were left with the classics like “we were better” or “if only this pass was completed.”

That is where the Jags are now. They simply won’t be able to score enough. Denver gave everything, physically and emotionally, in a home game and we still pulled it out at the end. I don’t see the Jaguars being able to do anything different to keep us below 30 points at home which will not be good enough for them to win.

All true, but my only fear is Andy's tendency to take his foot off the gas at the same time Sutton goes to playing his bend-then-snap game.

Minimally Andy needs to understand we have to try go for the throat every time we have the ball, and Sutton needs a shock collar and the CP crowd gets to decide when the button is pressed. If he goes "prevent" (when it's stupid to do so), we click!
