Gotta ask what do you guys think? There are strong rumors we are interested. I would love it if we got AJ MCCaron from Bengals.

P.S. If Denver lands Romo I'm going to have a meltdown.

Chiefs need to cut bait with Smith, secure Romo and draft a QB early. Period.

This roster with Tony Romo at QB has a 2 year window to be legit Super Bowl contenders. If he gets hurt, he gets hurt. It's a risk you must take.

Denver lands Romo? Say goodbye to the AFC West once again.

Conditional 3rd that can escalate all the way to a 1st based on games played.

Hell, give them the Alex Smith deal.

A 2nd and a conditional 3rd that can escalate to a 1st if Romo wins a playoff game.

Tony Romo, when healthy, is a legit top 5 NFL QB talent. Surround him with what we have on offense and what we have on defense with no Jerry Jones making all the calls - if you get 2 healthy years (big if) out of Romo ... we'll see an AFC Championship Game if not more.

Romo is the most underrated QB of my lifetime.

...if he goes to Denver (which is aging and worse than us on both sides of the ball IMO)

Denver will win the West and we'll be back to 2nd (or maybe 3rd fiddle) in the AFCW.

If KC land him, please, this time, PLEASE ... anywhere but Denver.

I'd throw them a 3rd this year and a conditional 3rd next year for two years of Romo. Trade Smith if you can and then draft Mahomes in the 1st.

I am not opposed to improving over Smith. Romo is not that improvement.

Well over a decade ago, I opined that 3 players great on paper would never win an important [read playoff/SB] game, Green, Gonzo and Romo.

My position stands, for 2/3 they stand for all time.

First off, I think Jones respects Romo to such a degree where I think he ends up giving him the Peyton Manning treatment and just releases him. It's better for their cap and it gives Romo total flexibility on where he moves on to.

Secondly, I don't think Alex Smith has any trade value.

But yeah, if Dallas wants to trade him and Romo gives the Chiefs a thumbs up ... I'd give them a hell of an offer.

I'd trade the #27 in a heartbeat for Tony Romo. We're truly a great QB away from being the best NFL team on paper. Romo would be the best QB in my lifetime for the Chiefs.

...and Andy Reid might be able to change him so he's not a sitting duck in the pocket like he likes to play. Romo spends more time in the pocket extending plays than anyone other than maybe Rodgers or Roethlisberger. Kian Fahey (no idea if that's the spelling) said on LeBatard recently that Tony Romo is the best QB in the NFL at extending plays from the pocket.

That really leads to his injuries more than anything. In a faster offense that is more predicated on pre-snap reads ... that might protect him more than what they were doing in Dallas.

Who knows, I think he's worth the risk. I am not an Alex hater by any means, but his brand of football bores me to death. I'm ready to have a real shot at winning the AFC and seeing KC in the Super Bowl.

...however, I imagine KC in the Super Bowl playing the Atlanta role. If that was KC instead of Atlanta I might have actually jumped into oncoming traffic after the game. How heartbreaking.

I figured this would be a very short term account so I wanted all of my friends from years past to know that I'm a true Romosexual, through and through.

When we have our O-line, a D that gives up 7 YPC on the ground, Maclin with the dead buddy sads, and Reid's time management, we're well more than 1 QB away from being the best NFL team on anything.

Romo and Gonzalez both have playoff wins to their credit.

As does Alex.

None were a threat to go all the way. Not entirely their fault in any instance. It's a team game.

Of the bunch, Romo has had both the worst AND the best supporting casts going into the playoffs, with the same end in either case. When it comes to championship football, Romo can't carry OR BE CARRIED to a SB.
