I think they all realized he wasn't doing it out of malice. Hell, they're both on the Dominican national team and have been for years, him and Bautista are probably friends.

ok so tell me what purpose it would have served to throw the ball in his face...

Because he slid in hard to take his legs out, yeah. At least that's what Eric Byrnes said the other day. I didn't notice it myself at first, but if you see the video, it does look like he did.

What sense would it make to throwat his face there?

Let's try the common sense approach here
If the throw hits the runner, then the other runner is automatically out due to interference. That's a way middle infielders use to force runners to come in low, by throwing directly through a runner coming in high...

Again, it's the runner's job to get out of the way of the throw.

agreed, but they are saying that he was going to throw at his face in retaliation for the late slide

no no... when a Middle infielder turns to make the throw often they'll adjust their throw at the runner to force him down if he's coming in high\late... it's in the act... not really "retaliation" per se... I didn't really read it that way, but could be wrong.

the fact is that he tried to turn the DP and in doing so almost hit him due to the lateness of the slide

I think they are friends, but I watched the full feed and Bautista and Odor are still pretty close/in the heat of the moment when Beltre grabs him and Bautista is still kind of trying to struggle and Beltre just turns his hip and lifts him entirely off the ground like it was nothing and Bautista just gives up lol.

Okay, so I guess you didn't mean this.

Ah yes, another lesson in baseball etiquette from a guy who follows a team that has instigated more petty baseball brawls than any other team over the past few years.
The reasons for the rash of conflict in April was pretty obvious. The big one is Ventura is a hothead and couldn't keep his mouth shut. Another reason is the Royals were HBP way more than any other team in the majors while hitting their opponents at an average rate, which was obviously frustrating. It was a bad couple weeks that people blew way out of proportion to characterize the team because it was April and it was an interesting story.

As for the Bluejays conflict, the Jays were crowding the plate. Volquez wasn't going to let it happen. Donaldson got unintentionally hit. The umps knew it and acted accordingly. Then Escobar got intentionally hit in retaliation, and Sanchez got ejected and suspended.

If you're gonna say that pitching inside is inciting a brawl but Donaldson's crying and antics weren't, I don't know what to tell you.
