I think they all realized he wasn't doing it out of malice. Hell, they're both on the Dominican national team and have been for years, him and Bautista are probably friends.

Because he slid in hard to take his legs out, yeah. At least that's what Eric Byrnes said the other day. I didn't notice it myself at first, but if you see the video, it does look like he did.

Again, it's the runner's job to get out of the way of the throw.

no no... when a Middle infielder turns to make the throw often they'll adjust their throw at the runner to force him down if he's coming in high\late... it's in the act... not really "retaliation" per se... I didn't really read it that way, but could be wrong.

I think they are friends, but I watched the full feed and Bautista and Odor are still pretty close/in the heat of the moment when Beltre grabs him and Bautista is still kind of trying to struggle and Beltre just turns his hip and lifts him entirely off the ground like it was nothing and Bautista just gives up lol.

As for the Bluejays conflict, the Jays were crowding the plate. Volquez wasn't going to let it happen. Donaldson got unintentionally hit. The umps knew it and acted accordingly. Then Escobar got intentionally hit in retaliation, and Sanchez got ejected and suspended. If you're gonna say that pitching inside is inciting a brawl but Donaldson's crying and antics weren't, I don't know what to tell you. |
