The thing is, Florida is going to be fine. They made a poor head coaching hire in Muschamp (who ironically came from the fighting Bevos). They are still Florida. They will still pull elite talent and their program will be back up now that Muschamp is behind them.

Texas has been down for too long for it to be an aberration. They've won the conference one time since Vince Young was there, 10 years ago, the Colt McCoy team that lost to Alabama. They have finished the season unranked 4 of the last 5 years. It's been basically a decade since Texas could be considered a national power in football. The only thing they have been running is their pet conference, alongside OU, a program that also looks like it might have some trouble brewing.

They will be fine. Mack Brown was allowed to stay way too long at that program. He was good at recruiting but the game passed him by.

Oklahoma still pulls elite talent as well. It looks like they will need to get rid of Stoops though as he is becoming more Mack Brown-ish by the season.

OU will still get the talent you need to be a national power, though OU's talent is at its ebb right now.

Texas doesn't get the same kinds of athletes they used to. Last year they had zero players drafted. They used to have a player in the first round every year, sometimes more than one. I don't think it's deniable that Texas has moved down a tier in talent.
