We have 3 closers on our roster. Wade gave us the best chance in that scenario to move on to the next inning with the lead still in tact in a playoff type game.

I knew Frasor was going to give up at least 2 runs in that scenario, as evidenced by my post stating "if Frasor gets out of this scenario giving up 1 run or less I'll be SHOCKED"

I've seen Wade Davis do it several times this year.

I see absolutely no reason in this world we can't burn 1 of our 3 TOP TIER ELITE relievers in games early when we need to get out of jams.

I guarantee you using Wade Davis in that situation is more important than perhaps being able to use him tonight in a game where we may or may not have a lead in the 8th inning.

You see

at the very worst there, IMO, Wade gives up 1 run and we move on to the 5th...where, in a playoff caliber game, you keep him out there to get you to the 6th with, at the very worst, the tie still in tact.

WHEREAS we go Frasor and Downs where, AT THE VERY BEST, we lose the lead and we're down a run in a playoff type game.

out of Rizzo, Castro, Baez, Soler, etc...

the 4 young guys who are all up in the majors already

the best of the bunch (Kris Bryant) should be an every day player in that lineup next year, too

Bryant's rise through their system was impressive. Dude has done nothing but hit since he was drafted. The only thing keeping him from being in the bigs is an extra year of control.
